Door latches repeatedly freeze during cold weather despite having been in for repair several times since the truck was new, including a service campaign designed to address this issue. The door latches will either freeze while the door is shut, preventing them from opening, or will freeze after the door has been opened, which prevents them from securely latching when you attempt to close them. This past Saturday the door opened while I was moving the truck in the driveway, resulting in me falling part-way out of the truck while it was moving. They again froze that evening, creating a situation where I had to hold the door closed with my left arm.

On 9-24-18 my instrument cluster went out, no gauges worked including wipers, blinkers, defroster. Had truck towed to the dealer and they did a master reset. Got the truck back a little over a week later. 7 days later the same thing happened all the gauges along with wipers, blinkers and defroster. The radio was out both times but that was not the safety issue. This time the dealer replaced a module. Got the truck back on 10-12-18 and it is working at this time. Both times the truck was stationary. 1st time was in my garage and the 2nd time was in the parking lot of the fire department that I run with..

We are experiencing separate serious safety issues with our F-150: 1. the capless gas tank system causes the gas shutoff when refilling to not stop at 'full'. this causes gas to spray in an arc for 3-4 seconds - covering both people and the ground with approx 16-24 oz of gas. 2. the front doors, when subjected to freezing temperatures will open but will not reclose until the latch mechanism is C ompltwtely defrosted - approx 15 minutes. This means that during that time the doors are unable to be closed at all. Additionally, the rear view camera/driver information screen is 'shorting out', causing the camera to be 'stuck on' or the inability to toggle to navigation or features beyond the main screen until a minimum speed (approx 15-20 mph) is reached.

Ford F-150 door latch will not locks or close properly in cold weather and freezing temperatures. Using a bungee to keep door shut. Dealership said there is no fix for this because the vehicle has the most current recall parts. I believe that this can and will be a safety hazard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is not acceptable!!

My drivers door does not "latch" when I close it. It appears this occurs when below freezing. I see forums about being wet/freezing. Mine happens in normal cold/non wet conditions as well. The vehicle was towed to a local Ford dealer for service, they told me they don't have parts come back next week, I did. They said there's no fix and they might want a water test. At this point I have no intention of being inconvenienced by their blundering and guessing. I told them to call me when they have a fix. I sell Mercedes-Benz products so I empathize with recalls however I am beyond frustrated that I drive to work holding my door shut. I have read many frustrating situations concerning this on the forums. It seems this has been going on since 2015. It is disturbing that Ford can't come up with a dependable solution in almost 3 years. My vehicle is not on the recall list but I am having the problem. This is totally unacceptable.

The engine shut off and the truck rolled to a stop. Meanwhile, several warning messages flashed on the instrument panel and smoke began pouring from under the hood. I got out and looked under the vehicle and sparks were profusely flying. I walked away from the vehicle and the engine ignited within 5 seconds. The entire incident occurred within 10-15 seconds. The vehicle was totaled.

The day after I bought the vehicle, the cross traffic and blind spot sensors failed. The dealership has been unable to fix the problem. Ford told the dealership to replace parts, but the parts are not available and they don't know when they will be.

Engine stalls at stop (after letting up on brake and auto start stop re-starts the engine) followed by "hill start assist not available" error flashes along with other brake related errors; vehicle engine won't turn over/start unless transmission is put back into park. Upon restarting all engine error/fault messages are cleared and things seem back to normal. Today was the second time this has happened. The first time was about 7 days ago. This is dangerous should it happen entering an intersection. I reported the problem to livermore Ford and they said that since it is intermittent without a check engine light on they cannot diagnose it.
