10R80 10-speed automatic transmission / driveshaft makes loud bang or clunk noise when first starting the engine.the clunking noise continues when you accelerate (light or heavy) and take your foot off throttle the clucks/ bangs are so strong you feel like someone reared you. The automatic transmission jerks and slipped when shifting gears up or down. When city driving transmission / driveshaft clucks/ bangs more because of stop and go. On the highway transmission downshifts and up shifts for no reason and 4 to 6 second delay in throttle response. Have had it to dealership 5 times. First time dealer reset tcm program to "relearn"shifts. Didn't fix problem. Second time checked grease in yolk. Grease full. Still not fixed. 3rd, 4th, and 5th time dealership called Ford "hotline" for repair or fix. No call back or fix from Ford to date.

Transmission shifts sometimes with really bad harsh jerks. At speeds below 50mph most of the time when pulling my boat trailer. This has happened several times in the last several months.

This has happened 3 times. While traveling on the freeway the truck goes into neutral and won't shift into gear I have to coast to the side of the road and re-start the vehicle and go again. This could be very dangerous traveling at high speeds on a busy freeway with no shoulder.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed the vehicle shifted gears sporadically while the vehicle shuddered without warning. The vehicle was taken to gus machado of hialeah dealer located at (1200 w 49th St, hialeah, fl 33012) where an update of the transmission control module was completed twice and an unknown part was replaced. The failure recurred and was taken back to the same dealer on three different occasions. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

Transmission make a loud bang when starting vehicle. Upon acceleration at highway speeds when transmission shifts from 10th to 6th gear it it so violent it feels like I have been rear ended by another car. Sometimes transmission will have a 3-4 second delay to go into reverse and then makes a loud bang when reverse engages. Spermatic hard shifting. All these problems started at about 20,000 miles.

While driving the vehicle on a city street it started to accelerate on it's own and I had to slam on the breaks because of it doing that. Again one December 20th 2019 it did it again. I dont know what's causing it to be doing that but I've taking it to the dealership and nothing can be found wrong.

I recently bought a brand new 2019 F150 at larry H. miller Ford draper. And within a little over a month of owning the truck the transmission is now giving me problems. Just recently took it in to the service department, left it there all day only for them to tell me that everything is fine. And since I've had it back the problems have been getting worse. I've been experiencing problems with the transmission skipping gears (2nd and 5th). Staying in gear too long. It doesn't shift down properly, so it takes a lot of power to make a full stop. As accelerate it goes from 9th to 8th, then down to 7th then back up to 9th. And I really have to accelerate it to even shift gears.

The 10 speed transmission is inconsistent in shifting especially when cold... also grabs and clunks if slightly rolling backwards when moved to drive (inconsistent). Creates unpredictable driving situations.

The F150 was purchased new with 5miles on it. The truck broke down on me within the first 16hrs of driving it off the lot. A temperature sensor had failed and shut down the truck while driving 70mph which was not safe I had no control of the vehicle and barely made it to the break down lane. That issue was resolved and the part replaced. A week later after driving the truck everyday for my daily commute to work I started experiencing vibration at highway speeds 60+ mph. The vibration is felt throughout the steering wheel and in the seat you can feel the console and everything vibrate. The transmission clicks, blacks and clunks like like 15yr old vehicle. The shifting is sloppy, jerky and occasionally delayed and will not respond when letting off the accelerator to slow down or change lanes, you will go to hit the accelerator again and the transmission feels like it slips or is delayed. The 10 speed transmission is a poor and unsafe design. Ford needs to be held accountable before these things kill someone. My is scheduled to go to the 3rd Ford dealer this Monday 12-23-2019 they are telling me its a steering damper causing it. It is not a damper causing these vibrations and sounds I have a very extensive background of mechanics and I know a junk transmission. Ford is well aware of this problem with thousands of other complaints from consumers with the exact same symptoms. These are lemons and should be bought back from Ford.

On Tuesday 11/5/19, we were traveling on a highway at around 45 mph when I decelerated to make a right hand turn onto a city street. I had accelerated back up to around 30 mph when I cross over a relatively smooth railroad crossing at a slight left hand turn. Immediately the information center on the console start displaying multiple alerts and the vehicle started decelerating. While the engine did not cut off, there was no power to the powertrain and eventually we rolled to a stop on the side of the road. The vehicle continued to fire alerts. The only way to stop them was to turn the vehicle off. The messages still fired so I opened and closed the door. I restarted the vehicle with no problem and the alert messages had ceased. I drove the vehicle back to the house (approximately 4 miles) at highway speed with no issue. We took the vehicle to the dealership then next day (26 miles) with no issue. Fortunately, our Ford pass app had captured all the alerts and, after a couple of days, the dealership replaced a gas pedal position sensor. We picked the truck up on Friday and it worked fine until the next day. We were decelerating from highway speeds on the highway to turn left onto a side road. We hit a small hump where the side road meets the highway and again the alerts starting firing and the truck lost propulsion. Again, the engine did not turn off and the only remedy was to turn it off and back on. We plan on taking the vehicle back to the dealership but would like for Ford to assess this problem as it seems to be beyond the dealership's capabilities to fix the issue. Since several of the alerts represented loss of safety functions including brakes, traction control, powertrain failure, and others we feel this issue represents a safety issue that Ford needs to diagnose and fix. Several of the F150 forums have shown other users having the same issue.

Rough shifting & clunk noise not all the time but when engine starts makes a clunk noise. Doesn't happen all the time. Also erratic shifting and clunking in driver train again not always.

Experiencing rough/jerky shifts from transmission. Part of the jerky shift is a delay in downshift or up-shift followed by it clunking/slamming into gear. Jerky downshifts in lower gears thrust vehicle forward. This is experienced during everyday driving conditions while the vehicle is moving in both city and highway conditions. The problem has been ongoing for months. Manufacturer has been notified but will not provide a fix.

The vehicle was taken to davidson Ford of clay (located at 3690 NY-31, liverpool, NY 13090, (315) 860-0096), but the failure could not be duplicated. The failure recurred after leaving the dealer. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 1,725.

My new 2019 Ford F150 has a knocking noise in the motor that can be heard 25 feet from the vehicle. The transmission has a constant whining noise continually upon any acceleration. Both while stationary, on city streets or highway!

I was driving down my block got to a stop sign as I was getting ready to pull up the truck would not move. The engine wouldn't rev and the transmission wouldn't sh*t. I decided to shut the truck off and wait a little still nothing. The only way to get the truck to move was in reverse.

There is a bad viberation at 60/70 mph. This is a $740 F150 limited. They put two new tires on and still bad. Now they are checking all drivetrain still nothing. This truck only has 700 miles on it. Its a 2019. Do not want this truck now. Ford knows they have a problem. This is a lot of money for me to spend. I think they need to buy this truck back, to big a problem to put up with.

I purchased a 2019 Ford F-150 XLT with the 10-speed transmission and the 3.5L V6 ecoboost engine on 5/13/2019. The transmission has become very problematic and is rough to shift, skips gears, and has created unpleasant driving experiences for me and my passengers. A few weeks after owning my truck, I started to notice issues with the transmission. Initially the truck would appear to 'skip' gears when shifting up or down, after I turned on the vehicle each day for the first time and started to drive. However, the transmission has started to perform worse over the past several weeks. The transmission will shift noticeably 'hard' or 'sluggishly' when shifting up or down with an occasional loud 'clang' sound. The vehicle shifted so hard on two separate occasions that it has caused the seatbelt restraint for myself and my passenger to engage, at the time the vehicle was in motion going approximately 35 mph. After the two incidents above and the increased frequency in which this transmission has difficulty performing, I took it back to the dealership on 7/1/2019. The appointment lasted about an hour (if that). The service advisor [charlie ryan] advised that the truck was 'hooked up to the diagnostic' and provided me with a printout and told me 'the transmission was operating normally, and it will skip gears by design'. I asked what can be done to fix it, since the truck is jerking me around while driving. He said there was not a fix and I should log a complaint with Ford and if enough people complain, maybe a recall would be issued for this truck model/configuration. The vehicle is not operating as expecting and is starting to become a safety concern.
