Trailer brake system fault. This fault warning displays when there is a possible lack of trailer brakes. On this vehicle it is on every time the vehicle starts. It began after the recall for the trailer brake module update in June of 2022. It has been to the servicing dealership 4 times and has been there for the past 23 days without resolution. There are many other accounts of this situation on-line also with no resolution.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after inserting the key into the ignition, there was no power to the vehicle which prevented the vehicle from starting. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the failure could not be replicated; however, the contact stated that he was not provided the details of what repair was performed. The contact was concerned that the failure would recur. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,500.

Audio system malfunction that resulted in deafening random electronic noise levels that would not stop until the battery was disconnected for a long period of time. I started a thread online (link below) and there are numerous others with the issue. There are multiple videos showing the issue. Some have reported a burning smell so there could be a fire risk as well. My ears were ringing for several hours. To date Ford hasn't provided any resolution beyond just extending my factory warranty. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a full week with no resolution - again, same as several others.

Complaint 1: Mar 14,2022 Manufacturer Recall Number22S12 NHTSA Recall Number22V-142 Parts for recall has not been made available yet, promised for 2nd quarter. We are not into 3rd quarter. How can Ford still produce new trucks if parts are not available to fix existing trucks on the road as it is a safety concern? Complaint 2: Error code P2C44 - requires replacement of Auxiliary Battery Insulator from Ford's internal doc SSM 50976. Was told part is also backed ordered for 45 days. Again how can Ford build new trucks if parts are not available! Please make them fix existing trucks on the road first before new trucks are built! What good are warranties when it takes months to fix.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while towing a trailer, he attempted to make a right turn while driving downhill. The trailer began to push into the vehicle and slide into the back end of the truck. The contact attempted to manually apply the trailer brakes but the trailer brakes failed. The traction control warning light appeared on the instrument panel as the contact began to lose control of the vehicle. The trailer pushed the vehicle off the road and onto a mount of dirt and stone. The trailer damaged the rear bumper and rear right corner panel of the vehicle due to the failure. The contact did not suffer any injuries due to the failure. A police report was not filed since the failure occurred on his property. The dealer was initially notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was repaired for the damage. The contact then received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V193000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the recall was serviced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V193000 (Electrical System) and the vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the integrated trailer brake control module software was updated. The recall repair was completed. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the trailer brake module fault warning message was displayed and turn signals were blinking rapidly. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

Seal - Valve - Ford (KL3Z-9U465-A) I have the same engine that is failing in all of the new Ford Broncos - Ford's 2.7L V6 2nd Generation, however, I have this engine in an F-150. My vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for over a month, diagnosed with a faulty valve (same issue that is in the broncos) Seal - Valve - Ford (KL3Z-9U465-A) Something needs to be done about this - Ford has offered me no loaner or rental vehicle AND I am still paying car payments while it is sitting up there at Ford! Help

The dealer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available on NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V986000. Parts distribution disconnect on NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V193000.

The vehicle was diagnosed with software failure and repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V193000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 4,600. The contact stated that the trailer brake controller was replaced and the issue with the vehicle no longer exists.

The contact stated that several warning messages appeared on the instrument panel as he had stopped the vehicle on the highway shoulder. The contact was able to drive to dealer where he was informed that the failure was a commonly known issue. He was informed that the wiring underneath the engine was soy based and had been eaten up by rodents and other outdoor creatures. The contact was given an estimate for the cost of the repair. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The F150 7pin flat The brake pin does not operate properly, fails to get signal from brake pedal. While pulling 6000lb trailer the trailer brakes failed to operate. I currently have a dealer app. On Feb 23 for a safety recall on this truck. They told me they would look at 7 pin at that time.

Automatic stop and go stopped working and dealer is unable to repair it. It has been to the dealer twice. It stopped working for the second time on October 25, 2021. The dealer has had the vehicle since December 30, 2021. As of today January 13, 2022 they still haven't found the problem

Cluster will randomly shut off causing all gauges to act like the vehicle isn't on. Then it will turn back on. I notice that transmission temp gauge will be the only gauge that wouldn't go back to normal. It will take several minutes for gauge to reset. The risk is not knowing your speed and causing a distraction to what is happening while driving. No dealer could redo the problem.

Infotainment system shutoff twice during operation on 12/13/2021, proceeded to pulse between displaying and not displaying. System non responsive to touch. Continued to respond to tactile button input and play sounds. System again shutoff, without pulsing, twice on 12/14/2021. Brought to dealership to schedule evaluation. Concerned that system will shutoff during reversing.

The Pro Trailer Assist program won't load or work along with constant electrical lamp fault messages when trailering my boat. This is a safety concern because you can't tell if the trailer lights are really working or not while driving. I also experience the turn signals blinking really fast like a bulb is out - when none are actually out. The local dealer's electrical technician has reproduced and confirmed my issues. The manufacturer is aware of my problem and is currently offering to put me in a 2022 truck that will be built in February. The Pro Trailer Assist program never would load or work from day one. The electrical lamp fault messages started as soon as I trailered my boat. All the lamp fault messages and fast blinking turn signals only happen while trailering my boat. The local dealer had my new truck forty days and replaced the APIM Module twice with no success. Mileage then (328), mileage now 1,255.

Trailer brake controller spontaneously fails while towing. This is an extremely well documented failure for the 2021 F-150 7-pin connector and is a very serious safety problem. The trailer connection was verified and the trailer brake was manually activated at the start of towing to ensure it was working correctly. Spontaneously during towing, the trailer brake suddenly stopped working. This was confirmed by manually activating the trailer brake switch. After connecting my boat trailer, I had ZERO trailer brakes. The lights all worked, brake, running, signal-but no trailer brakes. I turned the integrated trailer brake gain to the highest setting-still zero trailer brakes.
