My truck started doing the death wobble within the first year of ownership. I owned a Ford dealership from 1993 to 1998. I've been driving F350 trucks gor 40 years. This is totally unacceptable. This is a major safety hazard. Ford must do something to gix the problem. While driving on I80 while going 70 miles an hour I hit a small lip on the bridge. I've pretty much quit driving my truck because it is happening more often.

When traveling on a highway above 60 mph the vehicle can develop a violent front end shimmy after hitting a small bump, pothole, or bridge transition. Upon research, this has been identified as a Ford superduty death wobble. I have had it to the dealer already twice, and so far after spending $855 and now they are asking for $670 more to fix a problem that they cannot guarantee will be resolved. This issue is well documented online and I am very worried with my safety and the safety of the cars around me when this vibration occurs. The only to regain control, is to rapidly slow to ~ 40mph. This in itself is dangerous in 5 lane city traffic during rush hour. Please contact me at [xxx] as proof that this report has been viewed. This truck has an occasional wobble that causes the vehicle to be uncontrollable when in motion, speed doesn't appear to be a major factor. My local dealership has told me this is prevalent on most all Super Duty pickups from about 2010 to present. I would like to know why this has not been a nhtsb issue for a recall as this is definitely a safety issue. The dealership informed me, oh yeah we call it the death wobble. I would appreciate it if you could look into as to just how prevalent this is and what Ford is doing to fix it. This problem started over a year ago. The most common term for my problem is called a death wobble. I am spent a lot of money replacing parts to fix the truck only to learn that thousands of other people have the same problem. To date Ford has refused to acknowledge or accept any responsibility for this problem. The problem occurs mostly when the truck is between 50 and 70 miles an hour and hits a bump in the road. My truck currently has a hundred and forty-eight thousand miles on it, the problem started approximately at 120000 about 8 months ago.

I own a 2015 F350 superduty. I have noticed highway driving at 50 mph or higher when crossing over a transition in the road the front end suspension/steering can go into a violent shimming that can only be overcome by a rapid deacceleration to less ~30mph. There have been times that the shimming is so violent its had to control the vehicle. Yesterday, crossing over a bride on rt 222 South in lancaster co penna, the truck crossed a transition a the end of a bridge. It was all I could do to regain control of the vehicle while other cars had to swerve to miss hitting me as my truck was in this resonance until I could get it under control. This only occurs so far above 50mph, but, it is much more common at 65-70mph. I am taking the truck back to the dealer again for another evaluation. This situation developed at ~ 76,000 miles. The truck has 92,000 miles now. Upon further investigation into the event online I was able to determine that this has been identified as the "Ford superduty death wobble." I asked the dealer about this term and they said that they have had this situation on quite a few Ford F250-F350 vehicles. I no longer feel very safe driving a $72,000 vehicle that is known to have a death wobble, which as an engineer, would appear to be a direct result of an inadequate design by the oem. I believe we need the governments help resolving this situation since Ford denies the existence of this common situation.

This is not an isolated incident with our trucks, it's a nationwide problem that is very very dangerous. In a 10 mile ride it would happen 3-4X at 70 to 75mph hitting the slightest bump, the truck would violently shake. I would have to slow down to 20 mph for it to stop. Very difficult on a highway,

When driving this truck on highway at 70-75mph, the truck hits a small bump and goes into an extreme death wobble. It is almost impossible to get it back under control. It happened twice in one night of driving. Upon research, it is a common issue among Ford super duties and needs to be addressed. It is not safe whatsoever. The truck is completely stock with 47,000 miles. Https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-T67905_ds972988

While accelerating to merge onto the highway this morning I hit a bump this caused the truck to start to wobble violently. I put on the brakes to slow the vehicle but it continued to wobble until I pulled to the shoulder of the highway. It nearly caused a accident. Scared me to death. I know others have had the same issue. Please do something about this before someone dies!

I was towing a trailer on a hwy 52 in Colorado when I hit a small bump in the road. The truck began to shake violently I lost control and went in too the other lane it shook until I came to complete stop. It has done it 5 times since then I honesty don't want to drive the truck any more. The truck only has 37K miles on it and new shock and steering damper. This needs to be resolved I did a google search on this there have been multiple cases just like mine google death wobble. Some one is going to get hurt this is a safety concern.

2015 F350 4X4 6.7 we tow a 12K trailer gooseneck. This problem occures loaded and unloaded. Any bump over 50 mph on the driver tire will cause a violent shake that will persist though acceleration steering inputs and braking, soft or hard. Only slowing to below 45 sometimes 35 will stop the shaking. During the shake steering is nearly impossible, and attpeting to keep straight resulted in twisting the steering wheel out of alignment. Thus far we have replaced steering stabalizer. Track bar, and assosiated bushing and ball joint, tires, multiple alignments, sway bar links, balljoints, shocks. Each repair makes the problem seemingly better for a time but within a week it returns. We are a danger on the road and have sense stopped driving until a hard resolution is found.

Death wobble going at high rate of speed on interstate and truck began to wobble violently after hitting bump on road, only fixed by extreme slowing down. This is an unacceptable issue that Ford needs to fix, I had my family in truck at time.

Death wobble many times. Vehicle is completely out of control. Not cool in heavy traffic on way to boston (65 mph). Tires are properly inflated. Vehicle has been having problem since 45,000 miles and now has 55,000 miles on it. Dealer has only made "suggestions" on what to do to correct problem. Worried I will be killed or kill someone when driving this vehicle.

Already made complaint on this same [xxx] issue and it done it yesterday 6 or 7 times. Turn the wheel and will not return to center. You have to fight the wheel to try and keep control of the truck! it feels as though you have a flat tire and as fast as it happens it comes it stops doing it. Steering wheel will randomly stick when turning right or left. When this happens it feels like flat tire and you have to muscle the steering wheel back the opposite way and then you can't control that. Just had front end rebuilt at tri-state Ford in maryville Missouri where we purchased it new and didn't fix the problem. Done it 3 times yesterday April 19 2018 almost causing us the hit another vehicle. At a stop sign turning left it stuck causing us to veer into opposing lane in front of another vehicle. Fought to correct this and then it caused us to shoot back right onto the shoulder. We spent almost $1,200 dollars to fix this issue and it has not been corrected and of course it's not under warranty 😡

While making turns you are unable to turn wheel back straight as it locks up in city driving. Was told by Ford dealer where we bought truck new that we needed track bar bushing and ball joints. Drag link bar. Tie rod end replacement both outer tie rods. This has been and issue for several of our friends also but they caught there's under warranty.

My 2015 is experiencing the death wobble! it's when the pickup starts shaking violently and you can't hang on to the steering wheel! with that being said I have put on new shocks, replaced the track bar, new steering stabilizer shock, new shocks, going to get a third alignment, and new tires and still have the death wobble! the rest of the front end is in good shape! I'm just asking for some help from Ford! thank you!
