On three separate occasions during a recent road trip, we experienced sudden violent shuddering of the steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds (40-70 mph) and immediately after hitting an uneven spot in the road. On all 3 occasions, the steering wheel shuddered, the vehicle started wobbling side to side, and it was extremely difficult to control the vehicle. The shudder lasted for approximately 20 seconds each time, it was terrifying! this vehicle had only 35K miles on it at the time of our trip and has been very well maintained.

While traveling at approximately 70 mph on the freeway, I suddenly experienced a violent shaking in the front end after hitting an ordinary bump in the freeway. The shakoing was so violent that I temporarily lost control of the vehicle. The shaking ceased as the truck slowed to about 30 mph. I initially suspected a wheel or tire problem, but upon inspection I could not find any tire issues. This vehicle only has 20K miles, and has been completely dealer maintained since purchase.

10-27-2020 I was driving my 2019 Ford F350 at highway speed (70-75mph) when the steering started to violently shake, I had to suddenly reduce speed (brake hard) to get the shaking to stop. I had to reduce speed to 30mph before the shaking stopped. This issue happened on 3 different occasions as I was driving from Colorado to Indiana. Initially, it was shaking so bad I thought I blew a tire. I understand Ford is aware of this issue & does nothing to inform owners of the problem.

With the truck empty, while towing a small enclosed trailer on interstate 84 East of boise, Idaho at exactly 80 mph (cruise control), my wife and I experienced "death wobble". the front end started to shake violently. I was unable to steer the truck and had to slam on the breaks and pull over. Traffic behind me had to react quickly - including several semi's. extremely dangerous and frightening experience. I thought we were going to get rear-ended by one semi truck and trailer. This happened 3 times that evening - even though I had slowed down. To make it home safely, I slowed way down.

Experienced death wabble on a 2019 Ford F350 after hitting a small bump while traveling in a straight line at 40 mph on a paved major city street. Able to stop the wabble after slowing to 25 mph. Truck has less than 5000 miles on the odometer. Drive-train and suspension are stock and truck purchased from a new vehicle dealership less than one year ago. Symptoms are the same as I would expect to experience with worn suspension parts on a Jeep Cherokee or Wrangler, not a new truck. Given the newness of the vehicle and low mileage, it is highly unlikely to be worn parts, which means it is possible there is a design defect where the frame at the steering box or a suspension interface flexes creating the same symptoms as worn components

I was driving my 2019 F350 with just over 18000 miles to a family residence via 130th avenue a two lane road in Iowa, traveling 55mph. I went over a bridge and had violent shaking of the truck from the front end (death wobble). I had to quickly slow down to under 30mph for it to stop. Then again -same day- traveling on I-80 at 70mph, I went over another bridge and the truck did the exact same thing. The truck violently shook at the front end (death wobble). I had to again quickly slow down to under 30mph on a interstate for it to stop. Both time I had a pregnant wife and son in the vehicle. I was lucky that I was able to slow down and get over to the far right. I was also lucky that I did not have one of my trailers with livestock attached. This is a very unsafe truck right now, I happy that I was driving and not my wife. She will not be driving this truck anymore.

I drove across railroad track at about 50 mph and experienced severe wobble of steering wheel and violent vibration that made vehicle uncontrollable. I had to decelerate down to about 15-20 mph before wobble went away. This is the 2nd time this has happened since vehicle was new. First time was less severe. Vehicle is factory stock with 8000 miles on it.

On Sept 4,2020 with mileage at 20980 and again on Sept 3, 2020 at 21560 at around 65 to 70 mph the front end wobbled for 6 to 8 seconds in a uncontrolled manor. This made control very difficult and dangerous. I checked the air pressure which was at the recommend level. Both times I was traveling on well maintained state hwy. I find this unacceptable and highly dangerous. This was on a straight road.

Our vehicle has experienced the Ford "death wobble" on multiple occasions. This is particularly concerning and dangerous while towing a 20K pound fifth wheel. At one point the wobble was so severe that it damaged our fifth wheel, the bed of the truck, and we could not control the vehicle when we hit a bump in the road. Ford has a bad reputation for this issue, long standing, and I request the federal government would investigate why they continue to produce vehicles without correcting the issue. We have had ours fixed but this could have resulted in death and it is not acceptable that Ford continues to sell a product with a potentially deadly safety issue. The date below is one of many dates.

While driving my Ford F350 approximately 50mph on a state highway, I hit a slight depression in the roadway after crossing a bridge. The vehicle's front end and steering wheel began shaking violently. I had to come to almost a complete stop to make the shaking stop. I believe this to be the problem described as the Ford death wobble. The vehicle had 27800 miles at the time of the incident. I have scheduled an appointment with the dealer for an inspection and repair. I stopped to examine the front of my vehicle, but there was no apparent reason for the incident.

Driving down the road at around 60 mph when truck had violent shaking issue. Had to come to a complete stop to get it under control. Shaking so bad could hardly hang on to steering wheel. Thought that was scary and odd, went down the highway about a mile did it again! (this was going straight but hitting some uneven road. Once was a seam at a bridge) turned around and head home did it twice more. Ready for it this time. Got home looked on the computer found it is a known problem called the death wobble. Called dealer and they said bring it and we will replace the steering shock. Well as a mechanic of heavy equipment and a driver of pick up trucks for over 40+ years I know this is only a band aid! the value of the truck and the value of the lives in this truck demands more attention then a band aid. No dash cam to capture event and not going back out and trying to get it as they have it on youtube (come to find out). I now know this is a known problem but not sure if the wife could have been able to hold on to the wheel and if not the would have been a crash. Wish I had known this before I bought this truck! very very dangerous. As a known issue (for some) for a few years now do people need to die before Ford has a recall on this and fixes the issue. I thought I did my research on this vehicle through car fax and other sites and did not see this issue.

On three occasions, on highways, we have hit a pot hole or bump, and the F350 goes into an extreme wobble with the steering wheel. It is incredibly jarring and we've almost lost control. When brought to dealer, they replaced the damper. I've now done research and there are countless persons going through this exact issue: Https://www.facebook.com/groups/158686091563038 I can't believe this is so prevalent and unaddressed. Someone's going to be hurt badly or worse. Apparently the dealers just are replacing the damper to cover themselves. This is not a long term solution. I have no video, but the facebook group has tons! it's crazy and it is exactly what happened!

My 2019 Ford F-350 with 16,000 miles on the odometer is experiencing violet shaking of the steering wheel while traveling at speeds of 50-65 mph on the highway. The only way to get the vehicle under control is to slow down on dangerous highways to below 30 mph. I feel it's going to cause an accident sooner or later. The vehicle is all stock and no modifications of the tires, wheels, or suspension have been performed.

I was driving on the freeway at about 70 mph and went over a bridge seam in the roadway. The seam was at an angle. The entire vehicle shook badly. The steering wheel shook and rattled so much I had difficulty holding on to it. As a result, the truck veered out of my lane and in to the other lane (thank goodness there wasn't another vehicle there) before I could grab the wheel again and slow the truck. Had to slow down to about 30-35 mph to get the shaking to stop. Surprised I wasn't rear-ended in that process... this has happened several times - all while at or over about 50 mph, and after driving over some uneven pavement/pavement imperfections (very mild unevenness such as a bridge seam and small roadway patch; doesn't matter if I hit it at an angle or not). The first time this happened was 5/25/2020 when I bought the truck. It didn't last long and I thought it was a fluke... but now it happens more frequently. The truck shakes even worse/ shaking lasts way longer when the uneven surface is more pronounced such as a pothole, the uneven surface is an angle, or the path driven is on a curve. I once had a Jeep Wrangler (early 2000's) that did this. It was known as the "death wobble." This feels the similar except the shaking is more violent.

While driving my Ford F350 on a rural highway at 55 mph (60 mph limit) went over railroad tracks and experienced what is commonly known as the "death wobble". my truck only has 12,200 miles on it. I have heard of this, but until you experience it for yourself, there is no way to know how scary it is to lose control of a 7,000+ pound vehicle. I was lucky that I was able to pull over on the shoulder to stop it, this time. I have read several blogs about Ford dealers not treating this seriously unless the incident(s) are reported to NHTSA. I am sure this will happen again as it seems to always be present on vehicles that start.
