The issue is with the transmission and has been ongoing since we purchased the car in 2013. The transmission stops working without warning. We have had multiple repairs performed only to have issues reappear. Ford has been found guilty of knowing the issues existed before they started selling the cars and sold them anyway. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30689585/ford-settlement-transmission-lawsuit/ I think the Ford Focus and Fiesta with the problematic transmissions need to be pulled from the road. A car just stopping is a danger to the driver and to others. Safety Concern This past Saturday night the car stopped in a dangerous and busy 4 lane, 6 lanes when you include turn lanes, intersection while my daughter was driving the car and that is last straw for me. The intersection her car stopped moving forward has had at least 3-4 deaths because the intersection is so dangerous. What happened was she pulled out to go left after the traffic light turned green and less than halfway through the car engine kept going but the transmission had no power - simply wasn't functioning. She was able to coast the rest of the way across this 4-6 lane intersection, with an island in the middle, and fortunately made it to the shoulder of the road safely. She shut off the car, waited a few minutes, restarted the car, and she was able to limp about 1/4 up the road to a parking lot. At that point she waited about 15 minutes and restarted the car. The car now would not back up at all in reverse. I met with her and while the car would sort of move forward, it would not move in reverse at all. Please contact me with questions. My vehicle began to feel like driving a boat. It was shuddering and driving roughly. My vehicle was repaired by a recall that I believe reprogrammed the tcm, 14M02tsb 16-0129 was done yesterday. Although I can feel some improvement in the 35 mi drive home, it still shudders and feels the same. This did not fix the problem. My boyfriend researched through various service bulletins and found 14M01. He then jacked up the car, removed the tire to get a better look and saw the leak. It does not leak enough to leave noticeable marks on driveway but is leaking. When I called, I was told that my vehicle was no longer covered as I am just outside of this warranty since I have slightly over 127797 miles and this ended at 100,000 or 10 years. My car is a 2011. If I had been aware of this problem, it would have been fixed during that time. Since there was no code or warning and no visible evidence of the leakage, I was unaware. The dealer who reprogrammed the tcm was unaware, there are no codes relating to this issue on the car. They only code I now have is an oxygen sensor or something code that showed up after they reprogrammed the tcm. I believe Ford should extend this warranty for these effected cars, there are many with this problem, we have researched through the complaints. I want Ford to cover the costs of parts, labor and any costs related to the repair of this problem that they were fully aware of. I know they say the 2 bulletins are not related but I feel that they are.

Took car to mechanic to have O2 sensors replaced at time of oil change. Auto shop completed oil change and changed O2 sensors, reset check engine light, but then car wouldn't start. Mechanic reassessed, found blown fuses in fuse box, noting dirt in fuse box and corrosion. Car was towed to Ford dealership for further diagnostics as auto shop stated they couldn't do anything for Ford ECU. Ford ran detailed diagnostics to again find that dirt and corrosion in fuse box led to malfunctioning and car not starting.

My car broke down on the interstate. It started loosing power. So, I stopped at a store. The car told me the transmission was too hot to try again in 5 minutes. So, I looked up my VIN number, and their was a field service action. I went to the Ford dealership, and they told me that it had expired. So, it would be $250 just to hook it up to find out what was wrong with it. I just purchased the car for $3000, and do not have the money to repair. I dont understand that if there was a problem with these cars, why Ford wont repair them if it is their mistake.

I had it towed to the Ford dealership in southgate, they said that Ford motor told them to reset the software in the car, they did and got it running again.they also told me that there was a clutch problem and that was causing the engine light to be on. What they didn't tell me was that NHTSA and Ford motor had a recall to fix the transmission clutch shudder/transmission input shaft seal which has a warranty extension for free, they told me it would cost me over $2000 dollars to have fix. The field service action number is 14M01 and the fsa tittle is transmission control module extended warranty coverage. I bought this car in January 2018. I don't understand NHTSA and Ford Motor Co. Have had over 600 complaints about the transmission shudder/clutch/seal. Tell me does someone have to be seriouly hurt or killed for the problem in the 2011 Ford Fiesta to be addressed and fixed for free by Ford Motor Company?

About the middle of last year I noticed the problem while driving, so I stopped driving it. About two months ago I tried to start my car and the vehicle shut down completely for the second time and I had it towed to the Ford dealership in southgate, they said that Ford motor told them to reset the software in the car, they did and got it running again.they also told me that there was a clutch problem and that was causing the engine light to be on. I bought this car in January 2018 from dick genthe Chevrolet and have not been able to drive it safely since the middle of 2019. Until now, I tried to get them to take the car back, and they would not. I would like for Ford Motor Company and their dealership to fix my car for free or give me a 2018 in it's place with a minimum payment of $158.12 which is what I'm still paying for the 2011 Ford Fiesta. Thank you for your time in addressing this safety issue. I would like to feel safe in my car when I'm driving.

I have had the tcm on this vehicle replaced twice after transmission malfunction light suddenly came on. It came on a third time and the issue still causes transmission malfunction indicator to illuminate, however this time it is my dual clutch. Same symptoms in the vehicle every time. With no warning, the vehicle will suddenly lose power, fail to change gears, shutter forward after stopping, come to a complete stop in the middle of driving. Two days ago driving uphill, my vehicle, with no warning at all, started going in reverse, down the hill. I am in the middle of a class action suit with Ford that is taking forever to settle. I have tried to get Ford to replace my clutch, but they claim it is not part of the extended warranty like the tcm is now, even though it causes the same issues with the vehicle. I can pay to have it fixed myself, but it can go out at any given time again, with no warning. Ford does not believe these issues are safety issues. They are. These cars do these things suddenly. As I am reaching out to Ford about this, they do however inform me that there is a recall on my door latches. They consider this a safety issue, but not the transmission? unbelievable.

I was heading out in reverse the car felt slow when I pressed the gas it took a while to accelerate. When I came to a stop the wheel felt stiff and shaky. I pressed the gas pedal to turn, but it wouldn't go. It felt like the gas was suffocating it wasn't moving and the wheel felt stiff and hard to turn it took a awhile to move. I got scared and drove back home. I took it to Ford left it there to get checked. I asked about the transmission because the light had turned on. I was told they reset the module and that they sent me an estimate to my email if I wanted to do the repairs that they recommended. I asked if it was ok to drive the car they said yes, that I would feel it shudder, but that it was ok to go. I have been driving it to work, but it still takes a while when I press the gas.

On, 04/08/14, my car was losing acceleration as I was driving 45 mph on a major road. The acceleration slowed and eventually completely stopped in the middle of the road. The gear display was flashing from P to D, over and over. I towed my car to cal worthington Ford of anchorage. They called me on 04/11/14- verified cel. Self test =P06B8, P0884, ran oasis=found tsb 13-11-2. and they reprogrammed PCM, tcm and performed transmission clutch adaptive learn, clear codes and retest=pass. I picked up my car and 3 days later 04/14/14, my car experienced the same symptoms on on 04/08/14. My car could not accelerate and stalled in traffic on a major highway. The gear dispay was flashing again P to D, over and over. I towed my cr back to cal worthington Ford. After having my car over a month, on 05/09/14 it was ready. They replaced the clutch supposedly but I did not receive any paperwork saying so. On 05/13/14, the acceleration shlowed and the gear display switching from D, P, R, L over and over. I towed it back to cal worthington and they had my car until 05/21/14. Self test=P06B8, tested charging system and batt= batt pass end charges at 14.3V constant, no updates avail. Cleared code and retest =P06B8 comes back. Replace PCM, programmed PCM, keys and preformed trans clutch adaptive strategy. Clear code and retest=pass. Tert drive = run and drives fine, no light. Next day, my engine stopped on my street, gear display flashing D, P, R, L over and over. Towed back to cal worthington and they had my car until 06/05/14. I do not have the paperwork for that repair.

While driving my car on a city highway, started changing gears aggressively. The RPM went very high while driving between 20-30 mph, then dropped when reaching 40 mph. I had to pull over to the far right lane and put on my flashers because I could not safely drive the speed limit of 65. I pulled off of the highway and pulled my car into a parking lot to check on it. It would not go into reverse and it would not restart. We jumped my car and pushed it out of parking spot and drove it to kendall Ford dealership service dept to get it looked at. They diagnosed the clutch needed to be replace for $3,000. Car won't start due to electrical issues in battery junction box. Transmission slips and stops engaging when driving due to electrical issues in the battery junction box. Car stalls when driving due to electrical issues in the battery junction box. Issues happen while driving in city traffic, almost was hit from behind at a light when the car stalled. I believe this should fall under customer program 17B16, stating: Reason for this program in the affected vehicles, an opening between the bjb and its cover could allow water and debris containing road de-icing salts to enter into the bjb. This could result in corrosion inside the bjb for vehicles operated extensively in us corrosion states. Corrosion in the bjb may cause a variety of symptoms including loss of function of exterior lights, vehicle stall, vehicle no start, or loss of function of interior lights. I called and was given case number cas-27331475 and they told me my VIN was not affected, but obviously it is. Please help make this right.
