My 2011 Ford Fiesta with only 94K on it has a automatic transmission failure and starting issues. There are recalls on where Ford extended the tcm warranty to 10 years 150,000 miles which I believe may have lead to the failure of my transmission. The Ford dealership in ankeny Iowa says they will not do anything for me to fix this problem..

I was at the rocky mountain national park when my car wouldn't start. I have a aaa membership so they came and jumped my car. We drove a couple miles bought a new battery but it was was not shifting properly. We called our Ford dealership in Wisconsin that we always go to and they told us the transmission control module will prevent car from starting, drain your battery, and not allow car to shift properly. The drive down the mountain was very scary the car would not shift right and jerked the car violently. The drive on the highway was not much better, we had semi's almost hit us. Flashing lights at us because we could not speed up. We called around no one had the part we needed. With it being the weekend some Ford service shops weren't even open. We were told not to shut car off because it might not start again so we drove all night long for 26 hours home at 50 mph because we could not go any faster. The speed limit was 75 mph and several times we had cars get right on our bumper and switching lanes at the last second. Finally my husband put our hazard lights on so other drivers would realize we were unable to go fast. It was a scary and nerve racking experience. The Ford Fiesta has a really bad transmission that has broken on us before and Ford keeps extending the warranty but that doesn't give us peace of mind when traveling. I have to worry every time I travel that this car will break down. In fact I have rented cars 3 times to travel because I don't trust my Ford. This vacation I decided it was a waste of money to rent a car for a week and I took my Ford and it let my family down for the last time. This car should be recalled because it is not safe. You have to make sure that you have a lot of room to pull out at intersections because it shifts so slowly and does not take off like most cars. Please help get this unsafe car off the road. Thanks

5 times repaired for some of the same thing. Clutch replaced 3 out of 5, shaft seals replaced, reprogrammed several times PCM/tcm, pp test shudder, performed several adaptive learn strategies. In summary we have a lemon. If my son needed to get out of the way in a hurry, and couldn't due to the faulty parts on his car. He could be killed or injured real bad. Then there would be a big law suit.

My car has been repaired 3 times and needs another repair for the transmission once again. In the past month this car has died on me while driving first time was at a intersection luckily I was able to pull into a gas station it was towed to carmax where they took it to joe myers Ford they had it for week and some days. In which case they couldn't recreate the problem so carmax had it for almost a month and couldn't recreate it either so they had no other choice but give me back the death trap that will take my life. Since having the car back it has died on me twice I called Ford joe myers they don't offer loaner cars and I don't believe I should pay for a rental for their problem. In both cases I was driving when the tool light came on and malfunction appeared. I was just driving minding my own business when it started to slow dow and stop. When I turn the car off it's like it never happened. Please help

Transmission shudder and unreliability: My car frequently shudders when I start and, sometimes the automatic powertrain briefly detaches; in other words, applying pressure to the gas pedal on such occasions simply makes the engine whine, with no propulsive response. This has become a dangerous circumstance -- must be able to rely on the transmission responding to changes in pressure on the gas pedal. The problem is most acute when I'm accelerating from a stop; on the most recent occasion, I began forward motion at a stop light, but then the transmission detached and I just 'floated' into the intersection. Removing my foot from the pedal and reapplying pressure overcame the problem, in that instance. The car also shudders violently as I start, or if I am going uphill slowly (such as in stop-and-go traffic). I thought there had been a recall of the Fiesta to address transmission shudders, but I see no such recall on the NHTSA website.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. While waiting at a red light, the vehicle spontaneously accelerated and rear ended a utility vehicle. The contact depressed the brake pedal down to the floor, but the vehicle kept accelerating on its own. The contact opened the driver side door and ran to the sidewalk. Directly behind the contact was a fire truck and the occupants witnessed the entire crash. The contact was advised to leave the vehicle and the fire department was able to turn off the engine. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact also stated that the tipm was replaced twice. The first time was by huntersville Ford in huntersville, North Carolina in August of 2015. The second time was by salisbury Ford in salisbury, North Carolina in August of 2016. The huntersville Ford dealer also replaced the clutch twice. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 67,378.

My cars transmission jerks, powers down, hesitates. I have taking it back to the dealer several times and was told there is nothing wrong, one time I had a computer update. I had a lot of close calls due to the way this car operates. April 2015 my luck ran out. Evening traffic was heavy and sitting at a red light and when it turned green the car did the hesitation and this time my daughter was in a head on collision and the car is a total loss. My daughter had a neck injury and second degree burns to her arms.

My vehicle developed a low speed acceleration shudder. It was "fixed" under warranty. When it reappeared I found out it was a design flaw in the transmission and it would continuously reappear. I was fixed again under an extended 100,000 mile warranty at 86,000 miles. Occurred again at 96,000 miles but it "passed" the shudder test and wouldn't be fixed under warranty. It is now shudders terribly and at 104,000 all future repairs will cost $2000 each time.

There was an active recall on my 2011 Ford Fiesta hatchback ses that I aquired from an auto dealer but not from Ford. Took it to Ford when I later found out about the recall on door latches and went to have the latches fixed and later that day the front passenger window pops off track and my window on the drivers side has issues with going up and down. The Ford place said that in order to fix the windows it would cost $100 dollars to fix and they swear up and down thst they didn't work in the doors but the had to replace the latches. The windos wasworking fine until I took it to shaffer Ford.they said in the shop that there was a recall on the transmission clutch and the control module but it seemed to shift fine and I now have a wrench light and not the oil light beside the wrench one but another one and the transmission malfunction alert comes on in the display. My girlfriend is pregnant and when it jerks when I come to a complete stop it pulls the car seat tight on her belly and everytime it hurts her. I believe it's a safety issue and my only means of transportation. If I knew about this car before I stated the finance, I would of purchased something else. Just wanted to say thank from all us folks who got the Ford Fiesta. They are junk. I hope

Bought a 2011 Ford Fiesta (automatic) and have had nothing put problems with the vehicle shaking, shuddering, grinding gears, as if I am a first time driver just learning to drive a standard. It has put me in a couple situations when pulling into traffic where the vehicle fails to identify which gear it is in during the first 3 gears of acceleration, and has nearly caused me to have an accident even though I allowed myself what I believed to be a very safe distance to pull out into traffic with no problems. Now I feel like I should give myself at least a miles distance between vehicles to merge successfully without the fear of an accident. I bought the car after the problems began but was told the replacement clutch would resolve this problem, only to find out that that statement is completely false. After 1 replacement, I left the dealership and had the same exact problems only to be told that if it don't show on the diagnostics scan... there is nothing they can do. I could go on but I feel that after reading up on the other complaints, everybody has covered my same exact problems successfully. I feel the dealerships should have told me instead of trying to pass off a turd as gold. If they replace the faulty clutch with the same exact clutch that is faulty, who ever purchases the 2011 Fiesta is just a dog chasing his tail. Once the warranty is up... then what" am I just supposed to shell out thousands of dollars for the same exact problems? that's unbelievable. I also do not think I should try to sell this car to another person just for them to be stuck in the same bind. I have a conscience and will not do this to someone else. This is on Ford and I believe that they should resolve this problem instead of putting it off until every one who owns a Fiestas recall is up" that's inconceivable

I purchased a new, unused 2011 Ford Fiesta in February of 2011. It is an automatic with fewer than 70,000 miles and, since ownership, I have experienced recurring stuttering issues during acceleration (on city streets, highway, moving straight and while turning) that are clearly associated with the transmission while shifting gears. I have already had the vehicle with two different Ford dealership mechanics on numerous occasions which has resulted in clutch and clutch seal replacements. Additionally, I have been told the vehicle's computer has been "reprogrammed" with the understanding that it alters the transmission to prevent the issue from occurring. Still, the problem persists. This ongoing issue has me completely fed up with Ford and the product I have purchased. The vehicle is faulty beyond belief and is one that has caused my family great concern in ensuring we have safe and reliable transportation on a daily basis.

Ford transmission, I recently purchased a 2011 Ford Fiesta after which finding out about the customer satisfaction repairs for the transmission seals, and clutch as well as the door latches and other issues. I brought the car into 2 different dealers for the repairs, the one dealing with the repair of the clutch and seals I have had to bring it into twice for the issues regarding it. Before the dealer repaired the clutch and seals my car had a shudder where it would jerk when down shifting coming off the highway for example or up shifting when making turns across a lane. After I got it back it seemed okay but now less then 3 months later it is happening again and in addition there is a whining noise coming from the transmission. I brought the car into the dealership again today after several long conversations with Ford corporate and was called and told it is being caused by the "main shaft bearing" which they will not cover and is asking for $1500 to repair. This issue was caused by Ford producing faulty parts used in the 2011 Ford Fiestas, as reports from many online sources have stated, this issue caused by Ford is not becoming a safety issue for me and my family as the acceleration and deceleration cause a jerking pause and has even shut down on my in the middle of the road. I live in Ohio where snow and ice occur with this issue the life of my family and I is as stake as on coming traffic can not stop in time when this shuddering occurs and when I am able to move the jerking can cause loss of control of the vehicle.

The vehicle was purchased brand new. We have already taken it to Ford repair shops a number of times for replacement parts, repairs, recalls, etc. Recently, the vehicle would not start (among other continuing problems with shaking while braking, jerking when shifting gears--both of which we've already had worked on several times) so we had it taken to a Ford dealer near where we live. We found out the problem is with the transmission control module. It turns out that Ford has a csp for this problem. However, we did not know about it and by the time we started having problems, we were past the mileage for the warranty coverage. I am extremely displeased with this vehicle and the customer service we have received. I believe it is bias and discriminatory to repair problems you know about only if they are on vehicles with mileage under 150,000. If there is a known problem. Ford should fix it and fix it for everyone, not just people who do not drive their vehicle frequently. This car has had known transmission problems and numerous recalls already. The problem is, every time we have it worked on, it never fixes it completely.

While driving at highway speeds in 3rd and 5th gears there was a loud whining noise coming from the 5 speed transmission. The noise will increase or decrease with the throttle and goes away when in neutral. While traveling at approximately 65 mph and with the cruise control on the car popped out of 5th gear without warning and I was not able to shift back into 5th gear. All other gears including reverse work fine however when the shifter is placed into the 5th gear position the transmission doesn't engage. I have read numerous complaints of the same problem but not.sure as to the outcome.

I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta, my vehicle has a number of recalls out. (Ford recall number 15S16, field service action number 14M01 and 14M02). I had contacted the dealer November of 2015, they told me that they would contact me when parts were available. I have heard nothing for a year now. There are two recalls out having to do with the transmission.( transmission clutch shudder/transmission input shaft seal warranty extension and transmission control module extended warranty coverage). I have had my father who is a mechanic tell me that is why my transmission is going out. I have three children and the car is barely shifting correctly and I feel is unsafe to drive but being my only form of transportation I am forced to do so. I need something done, I feel that I shouldn't have to pay for a new transmission when if the recalls were performed in a timely manner I would not have any issues at all. Please help me resolve this issue. I am already paying so much on this car and getting no where with what I own due to all my payment going to interest. I cannot go without a vehicle. Please help!

Ive taken my car to the dealership around 4 times for the same problem. The fourth being the worst. The car will shudder, shake, over rev, low power when taking off and lack of powersteering and brakes. Its had its tcm reprogrammed to no avail! clutch has been replaced to no avail. Third time it stared again and had to get the car reprogrammed again. The last time the car would not drive over 30 mph without shaking shuddering and trying to find the right gear. Couple of times the car stopped while driving!! dealership replaced the tcm.on about the fourth time in. My wife drives our kids to school in this car and I have not confidence in its ability to sustain and deliver my family safely to their destinatation. Im currently making payments and have also tried to talk to Ford about a buy back or replacement and they said I don't meet or qualify for the California lemon law. They had pulled my records at the dealership to verify the car status. All actions that the car displayed and others have encountered have happened when pulling away to accelerate. A couple of my complaints on the service record was not recorded. I think the first and the last ones were however.

First time I had an issue vehicle was in motion would not accelerate over 40 mph. Took to dealership no codes found. After about a week vehicle was parked put into reverse the motor would rev up but it would not move, put into pare turned off waited a little bit car would then go but with very little power couldn't accelerate over 40 mph again. Returned to dealership this time they replaced the clutch assemblies and updated the computer. I will be returning tomorrow for the third time in a month. The car only has 77,000 miles on it.
