The contact owns a 2014 Ford Flex. When attempting to restart the vehicle after filling the tank, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact had the vehicle towed to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel tank module failed and needed to be replaced. The contact spoke with the dealer who informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 16V621000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

I've had my fuel pump replaced twice and it cost me $970. $830 for fuel pump and $140 for battery that died as a result of the fuel pump issue. I don't get how my car, with a real malfunction, not something that "may" happen, isn't being included in the fuel pump recall. I was driving when it happened. I could've been seriously injured or my children. My fuel pump malfunctioned and the replacement one they put in also malfunctioned. Now, since they've installed the 2nd fuel pump, my car has an overwhelming smell of gas, which appears to be leaking from my vehicle. On 07/11, I had to get a second replacement pump, due to the first one failing.
