The contact owned a 2014 Ford Flex. While driving 70 mph, the contact heard an abnormal popping noise and the rear of the vehicle dropped without warning. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another vehicle. All the air bags deployed. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The police towed the vehicle to a lot. An insurance adjuster came to the sene and declared the vehicle totaled. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14V393000 (power train). The failure mileage was approximately 122,393.
