My son & I got done eating I left the restaurant parking lot & thought I would stop by the next place when my rear passenger side door opened up out into traffic. Lucky no one was riding in the back. And no accident happen. After several attempts of playing with the lock I got it to close & haven't used that door since. I made several attempts in contacting Ford directly and all I got was a survey form which had nothing to do with my problem. Back in 2005 when they recalled my car for failure on door locks I had taken it to valley view Ford and had it serviced. Now three years later the problem exists and nobody wants to do anything about it. Maybe it takes someone to die and sue them. Very unhappy with Ford, I now will never buy another Ford again.

I will start with the fact the car is on it's fourth battery. It has had the wiring harness replaced along with every sensor in the car some twice. There was a steering column recall done on it. The two back windows tracks have been broke a total of six times. The door handles brake three so far. The stereo is broke for the second time. I have had to do the brakes twice so far and all this and the car only has 63,498.8 miles.

I own a 2001 Ford Focus. Problems started one month after purchase. Window wiper motor blew but was under warrenty. Then after warrenty expired everything started to go wrong. Trunk hood would not latch closed, then door latches started to stick, then had to climb into passenger seat to open drivers side door because it would not unlock and door handle plays games and opens door when it wants to. Fuel pump had a recall, thank god because I kept stalling on highway. Then while driving home from work the back passenger side door flew open on highway, almost caused accident. Then engine blew with only 123,000 miles on it. I have all oil change records to prove engine oil was changed every 3,000 miles give or take 20. Engine had to be replaced and that left me without a car for a week. Paid $1900 for an engine from a totaled Focus. Called Ford Motor Company and they told me to hold my engine receipt so that when and if they get any complaints maybe in 2 years or so I'll get a refund. Total money that I have put in car is over $4,000 and it's still not paid off yet. Now I need a new front axle because that is going bad. Why can't Ford help me when I have questions and why is it when I go to a dealer and they can't help and then I call company itself they go and call dealer I went to and they go by what dealer mechanic says and not customer. I will never buy another Ford again. And now the dealer I bought it from went of of business.

The ignition cylinder on my 2001 Ford Focus locked up last night and will not allow me to start the car. The steering wheel is locked, and the key will not turn. The dealership says I need to replace the lock cylinder. After doing some research on the internet, I can see that this is a very common problem happening to many people, and sometimes it happens more than once. If this is the case, Ford needs to offer a recall. Paying $300+, plus towing is not something I was planning on paying.

I am the owner of a 2001 Ford Focus and have always had problems with it. On 10/28/2004 I stopped for gas with my two small children. After re-fueling, we all got back into the car to leave and the key wouldn't turn. My whole stering column had locked up-the steering wheel wouldn't budge, the shifter was locked as well as the brake pedel. Although many strangers tried to help me start my car, me adn my children were stuck at the gas pump for over an hour. After having my car towed the driver told me that this was his seond Focus that day with the same problem and his company tows several a month.

My Ford Focus 2001 SE will suddenly lock all the doors and I can't get back in. I bought the car 3 weeks ago and was only given one key. Now they want $78 for another key. I think if that is the only key that works, I should have 2. the doors will lock without me pushing the lock button.
