Focus SE Sedan 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I recently had my engine blow up for a second time. Last June the valve seats in the engine busted and ended up ruining the pistons. It only had about 60,000 miles on it. So we went ahead and just replaced the engine with a used one. After my engine failed I know of 2 other people who had the same problem with their focus. Then, yet again, just this January the same exact thing happened to the new engine we put in. This time we are just taking the car to the junk yard because we are tired of messing with the piece of crap! It's not worth it when it keeps happening to all the motors. I would not recommend this car to anyone.

i own a 01 for focus 2.0 sohc engine had it since it was new and took super care of the car , went out one morning to go to work and started it up and the valve seats busted and slammed into the pistons totally destroying the engine i wouldn't recommend anyone buying a sohc engine if it means having to replace it o have had my thoughts about getting another engine don't think i want to waste my money on another 2.0 sohc engine . if anyone has any questions about replacing the engine with another year model that wont have this type of problem id love to hear from them ... stay away of the 2.0 SOHC ENGINE BEWARE... After reading the countless complaints about the crappy motor Ford made and ALL of them failing the same way maybe we need a class action suit.

Focus 2.0L

The valve seat came out of the head of the motor, broke into pieces cause major damage to pistons and ruined the cylinder head of the motor. The motor is ruined. Had to replace it with a used second hand motor. This should not have happened to the car. Before this happened the car worked great.
