Well let me add my 2 cents worth, I now have 2 windows in 2002 focus se that are broken because of the same problems that so many are having with the power windows. Ford is very aware of this and I wonder why they don't do a recall about it. how many complaints does it take for a recall, it will cost be over $1100.00 to get my windows fixed
I'm riding with plastic on one window and a paint stirrer to hold up the other window.

The rear power windows broke. The more I learn about my Focus the less I like it. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone

A few months ago my front passenger side window stopped working. I learned this when I was pulled over on the freeway and couldn't roll down the window to talk to the officer. Then today my rear driver side window stopped working. I just tapped the roll down button and the whole thing went down with a big THUNK. I've tried pushing the button to make it go back up but it just makes a whirring sound. I tried taking the door panel off to fix it myself, but of course it's nearly impossible. For now, my boyfriend forced it up with his hands... but as soon as I hit a bump I'm sure it's going to fall down again. I'm going to try removing the panel again tomorrow when I'm less frustrated.

I went to roll down my rear passenger window and heard a smack only to turn around and see that it wouldn't roll up and it made an awful grinding noise and now its just stuck there and if I manually pull it up it falls back down at least 5 inches!! Now my daughter screams because the wind bothers her and I can't put her on the other side cause her sister is on that side and she is just a little one. Now I don't feel safe leaving it parked in my apartment complex for fear of a break in!! I love my car, but that really pisses me off!!!

Both of my back windows have stopped working. I started putting my windows down one day and thought I heard glass shatter. When I tried to put the window back up it wouldn't go. Only a few days later the other window did the same thing. I now have to drive around with little wedges in the windows to make sure they stay up. My dad actually took the door panel off when the first window broke. It looks as if a small plastic piece that holds the end of the pulley has broke. It looks to me that Ford needs to do something about this if it is happening to so many people.
