I have brought this vehicle, or attempted to bring it, into the dealership service department multiple times for the shuddering, stalling, overheat for no reason with system shut off, etc. At take-off from driveway, highway metering lights, lighted signals, & stop signs the car(automatic transmission)will either shudder and bounce like a manual transmission not properly shifted or initially roll slightly and then stall as if in neutral.the rpms will rev, but the car will not move.I have narrowly missed many rear-end accidents.I have paid well over a thousand dollars just on rental car fees while not able to drive this car.the service department refused to give me an appointment or take it in for many months because according to them they did not have the required parts. On other attempts they would tell me they did not have the code pop up that anything was wrong. August 2017, after the dealership had my car for multiple days when promised back same or next day, they told me there was nothing wrong & I showed them a picture I took of the control panel, then they finally took it back to work on. I also had the check engine light on & shuddering immediately when picking it up from service.I was told there was nothing more they could do and they refused to put why I brought it in for in the work orders each time I brought it in.Nov 7-Dec 5 2017, they had the car for an entire month.service told the Ford facilitator & me that there was nothing wrong with the car no shuddering, no sounds. After almost an entire month they suddenly decided the car needed a full brake job which did nothing for the shuddering/stalling.they also let the battery die.Ford Motor Company refused buybacks because the work orders did not say why it was brought in. I told them I would have an accident. I was trying to leave my driveway. The car stalled and the front of my car was slammed into by an SUV.

While driving at 55 mph the transmission disengaged and the vehicle quickly lost power. The car acted like the transmission was shifted into neutral since the engine revved up to high RPM but the gear selector was still showing in D. after pulling off to shoulder and stopping and shifting to park, I was able to shift back to drive and operate the vehicle. This is something that has happened several times before and is an intermittent problem. I have taken the car back to the Ford dealer who has analyzed the obd and found no codes to indicate a problem. The dealer has told me that there are problems with the transmissions and clutches and tcms on these cars. The tcm was replaced already under a recall yet I am still having problems. This is a safety hazard as I do not know when the car will stop moving next. Ford's regional manager refuses to admit that there is a problem and keeps referring me back to the dealer.

The NHTSA is non compliant with standards that they have set. From 2012-2015 Ford focuses have been manufactured/sold/leased that are unsafe for public use. The safety defect is with the power train of the vehicle; the transmission fails while being operated and ian liable to cause an accident. This has happened to myself while driving and the NHTSA has ignored the issue. This safety defect meets the standards of what is required for a vehicle to be investigated with intent to recall. The secretary of transportation is not being held to her responsibility to investigate safety defects that have potential of death/injury. I request an investigation into my vehicle specifically which is a 2015 Ford Focus. I have done everything the manufacturer asks as far as regular maintenance, new tires when necessary, regular servicing, replacing all parts and equipment advised my the service department of my vehicles manufacturer (Ford Motor Company). The vehicle hasn't nearly killed me 3 times and is unsafe. When will the NHTSA honor their legal requirements to take action on known safety issues?

I stopped at a stop sign, accelerated to cross the highway and the car rolled forward into traffic then the car acted as if it was in neutral and the rpms went way up but the car wouldn't go forward. Luckily reverse worked or I would have been hit by a car being as I was stranded in the middle of US1 South. I had to reverse the car out of the road and onto the shoulder until a tow truck came. Ford has replaced the clutch three times claiming this was the issue but my car remains unsafe. They also had my baby buy a new battery knowing that the issue was with the transmission.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. While driving various speeds, the vehicle jerked and hesitated to accelerate. After a few minutes, the vehicle would operate normally. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to al packer's white marsh Ford (9801 pulaski highway, middle river, md 21220 (443) 777-5000) where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired due to the diagnostic and repair fees. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. No further assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 76,706.

Purchased my car new 2015, within months car began to shake and jerk, causing car to slow down and jerk forward. Went to car dealership and told it was a known problem, and they had a permanent fix for it. Tcm clutch problem. I have been back 2 more times with same problem, this last time, dealership states they will no longer fix the problem under warranty, but I will be responsible for repairs. I still owe on the car, and no other auto dealership would give me anything for it since the auto has this known problem. I am stuck with the car.

Car bucks, lunges, cuts out, jumps gears when accelerating...especially from a stop. This causes a very dangerous hesitation in acceleration when pulling into traffic. It also causes a violent jolt to the engine and transmission, which is causing more and more rattles in the engine compartment and the drive train. The Ford dealer refuses to even acknowledge that there's even a problem. The problem started just a couple months after purchasing brand new, and gets worse with time. And internet research shows that this problem is very common.

On July 13,2017, I was in stop and go traffic, I barely accelerated and my car jerked forward into a large 4X4 truck. When I financed my car in February of 2017, my car was jerking whenever I accelerated. I asked the sales man on my first test drive, and he told me it was nothing to worry about cuz it had something to do with gas economy, but he rambled it off so fast, I didn't understand what he said it was. My car is a automatic with the powershift. I feel they sold me a unsafe vehicle. Could you point me in the right direction or maybe let me know if I have a claim? I also recieved a recall notice in the mail. I feel with the result of the cars jerking motion, that's what caused my accident. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).?

There has been a recall on clutch for transmission. The car bucks when you make left turns or when it is hot outside. I do not try to get on freeway unless there is no one coming because car will start to buck and I am afraid it will stall out and cause an accident. I brought the vehicle to Ford and the dealer said that they will not repair it until August 2018. This is unacceptable they take my payment each month but I feel that I bought a vehicle that is a lemon. I feel that they should be made to repair the vehicle or take it back. I can not trade vehicle in for a different brand of vehicle because of recall so I am stuck with vehicle

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal noise while in motion. While shifting gears, the vehicle shuttered and stalled several times. In addition, the vehicle stalled several times without warning. The dealer (gosch Ford temecula, 26895 ynez rd, temecula, ca 92591, (951) 708-9148) replaced the clutch assembly. Months later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V479000 (power train). The manufacturer also had 19 technical service bulletins for the power train. The dealer and the manufacturer indicated that there was no warranty, service campaign, or recall to provide a repair solution. The dealer mentioned that the clutch assembly, seal assembly, and additional repairs may be required. The manufacturer provided no solution. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.

I am aware that the 2013 and 2014 Ford Focus' have a issue that was recallable. My 2015 Ford Focus has the same issue. During the transition from 1st to 2nd gear the car shutters which indicates a transmission issue. I am worried the transmission will go out or cause me to wreck in the future. Again, I do know that previous year cars of the same make and model have the same problem and were recalled.

I am having problems with the transmission on my 2015 Ford Focus it jerks and slips while driving. I took it to Ford and was told that there is a recall on parts of the transmission. I was told the clutches are bad inside of the transmission. Not sure if it's this specific part, I have done some research and found that other Focus ow era are having the same problems. The Ford dealer is saying this is not a recall issue on my vehicle and refusing to repair it under the warranty, I feel that this is a safety issue as well and should be addressed. My vehicle is not the only one having this problem, I have researched on line in multiple Ford forums, read many articles and spoke to other Focus owners having the same issues. If this can please be reviewed for safety reasons and corrected. Thank you for your time.

  • 3,000 miles
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the transmission shuttered and jerked several times for months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (columbia Ford-Lincoln, 700 7th ave, longview, wa 98632, (360) 423-4321) more than once who indicated that they flashed and serviced the transmission, but it continued to jerk and shutter. While at a stop on an incline, the accelerator pedal traveled to the floor more than once. The contact applied force to the brake pedal and the vehicle surged forward at a high rate of speed once the brake pedal was released. The dealer was unable to provide a solution to prevent the failure. The contact inquired about a manufacturer extended service campaign (14M02) to determine a solution. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

I own a 2015 Ford Focus and a 2016 Ford Focus both were in an accident. The 2015 Ford Focus was T-boned. I got injured and there was no deployment of the air bags. The 2016 Ford Focus was rear - ended and I sustained additional injuries and the air bags did not deploy either. The T-bone I was entering the intersection on a green light. The 2016 I was stopped and a car in front of me making a left turn when someone slammed into me doing 35 miles per hour. Both times neither air bags deployed. The 2015 sustained over 10,000 in damage it is the red vehicle had a broken tie rod as well as injuries.

When you step on accelerator pedal, vehicle hesitates, transmission feels like it's slipping, especially when you make a turn. I brought this concern up with a Ford service manager on my first oil change. This manager advised me they were approximately three months behind on receiving transmission parts for this vehicle. I called this manager a few more times on this matter. On my next oil change, this manager advised me there is no problem with my vehicle. My vehicle is due for its third oil change very shortly. My concern on this problem has gotten worse. This mainly occurs on city streets, red lights, stop signs, etc. I traded in my 2013 Focus for this 2015 model and the 2013 did exactly the same thing. This same manager advised me, Ford had many problems with the transmissions on this Focus model. The name of the service manager and dealership will be given at a later date.
