Fusion

  • 70,300 miles
I purchased my used 2015 Ford Fusion with on 70,000 miles on it on a Tuesday, on the following Thursday the check engine light came on. I took it to a shop to be diagnosed and was told it just needed coolant. So they added coolant and the check engine light went off and everything was fine......but then the following Tuesday the check engine light came on again. I decided to take it to an auto parts store to be quickly diagnosed and the code showed up as P26ce (engine coolant pump-overspeed/air in system), I then checked to see if there was coolant still in the tank and noticed that the tank was completely empty. So I then took my car back to the shop the following day and they searched for the leak. They eventually found the leak in the thermostat housing. They showed me the thermostat housing and how corroded it was, they then had to order a new thermostat housing and let me know that the new part still wouldn't be a permanent fix, that in 70,000 more miles the new thermostat housing will become defective again because of corrosion. Ford should offer a permanent fix for the corroding thermostat housings!!!
