Summary
Some 2024 Mustang vehicles may exhibit a Pre-Collision Assist Not Available message and a Pre-Collision Assist Not Available indicator displayed in the IPC with DTC U023A stored in the steering column control module (SCCM) after the vehicle is remote started. The message and indicator should go away and normal operation of the pre-collision system should resume once the vehicle is shut down and then restarted using the push button start. This may be due to a low power mode issue with image processing module A (IPMA). To confirm the pre-collision system is operating properly, turn on the vehicle using the push button start (do not use remote start), the Pre-Collision Assist Not Available pop-up message and indicator should no longer be present. If the error message and indicator are not present when starting the vehicle using the push button start (do not use remote start), replacement or reprogramming of the IPMA is not necessary. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in January 2024. If the Pre-Collision Assist Not Available message and indicator do not clear after shutting down the vehicle and then starting the vehicle using the push button start, follow the appropriate section of the Workshop Manual (WSM) to diagnose the vehicle. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available
