Normal driving on rough pavement, also normal driving at highway speed. In both cases the fuel system shut-off switch (inertia switch) tripped shutting off the engine.

2005 Ford Ranger edge supercab while driving on dirt road about 25 miles per hour, turning left onto my street the engine just shut off. A friend of mine that is a mechanic said that this was a problem with fuel inertia switch. The consumer knows that this problem has happened to at least 2 other people. The vehicle would not restart back. The vehicle was towed back to the consumer's house. We read the owners manual. The reset switch for the fuel inertia switch was pushed and then car started back up. The consumer drove the car for about a half hour and this problem did not occur again.
