Takata recall: I was notified of the recall early in 2016. The passenger side airbag was replaced on 4/22/2016. I was informed that the parts for the driver side airbag were not available and I would be notified when they came available. I have followed up with the dealership on a regular basis, always being told no parts were available. It is now January of 2018 and the local news media is reporting that people are being advised to not drive there vehicles due to the danger of the air bag. The local dealership states they still do not have the parts and they don't have any other information regarding the recall. I need my vehicle for work and feel this whole matter has taken entirely too much time.

Takata recall. In spite of the statements by Ford regarding replacement of air bags, dave sinclair Ford in St. Louis per cheryl robison does not have parts and hopes to have by Monday. Would not authorize loaner and told me to contact Ford customer service(800-392-3673). Rachel at Ford directed me to contact Ford Canada. Called back ray said they would not authorize loaner. Disconnected me when forwarding to a supervisor.

Takata recall on 01/11/2018 I went to the safecar.gov website to verify the takata recall on my 2006 Ford Ranger. After I verified it, I contacted the West-herr Ford dealership in hamburg, NY, to schedule an appointment. I was told by their service department that the parts required to fix the recall are not available and would not be available until at least 02/28/2018. A rental vehicle was not offered. This is unacceptable considering the local news is urging owners of the vehicles not to drive them until the problem is fixed. I even contacted Ford customer service 1-800-392-3673 and was given the same run around excuse. No rental vehicle offered. I also contacted dave smith Ford in williamsville, NY, and was told yet again that the parts were not available. I wasn't offered a rental nor was I even given a possible date as to when the parts would arrive. This is ridiculous to me! Ford had more than enough time to get these parts out to dealerships. Owners are being told not to drive their vehicles and to have the dealership come and tow the vehicle because it is unsafe to drive. In the meantime we are expected to ignore the fact that the next time we drive our trucks it could potentially kill us because the parts aren't available. Completely and utterly unacceptable!

About two years ago I received a notice for a recall on my Ranger airbags and followed the instructions and had it replaced by my local Ford dealer. A month ago while the Ranger being parked at a restaurant parking lot I observed another parked car reversing back into the front end of the Ranger causing no physical damage to the front of the Ranger, only to have both driver and passenger airbags to inflate prematurely. This mere impact should not have caused the airbags to inflate in the manner that it did.

I have tried four times in the last two years to get my airbags replaced after receiving the notice at lithia Ford in boise Idaho at 8853 West fairview ave boise, id 83704. Finally I had an appointment today but when I went in they had no record of my appointment but also said there is no replacement yet for my airbags though it states clearly on the recall notice in Feb 2016 - notice number 15S22/NHTSA recall 15V-322 that there was a replacement over a year ago" I was informed by [xxx], service advisor at 0945am on Nov 9, 2017 that I need to contact Ford Motor Company to get an answer as to when they will be available. I have called that number three times, and all three times after going through the menu and getting put on hold for a service representative from Ford the call just returned tot he beginning of the process. I just want my airbags replaced if they are going to kill me or someone with me but apparently this is not possible" I am very frustrated with this process. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
