Summary
Some 2024 Ranger vehicles may exhibit a condition where the fuel gauge reads half full after re-filling while the distance to empty reading is accurate. This concern happens when the fuel tank is overfilled past 100% and the gauge will read accurately once the fuel tank reaches 99% capacity. This is normal operating characteristic and replacement or reprogramming the instrument panel cluster (IPC) or fuel pump and sender unit will not resolve this condition. Inform the customer filling the vehicle past automatic shut off of the fuel pump can cause this condition. This does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition.
