Consumer complained about rear coil spring problem.. while driving driver heard a rubbing noise under the rear of the vehicle. When the vehicle was inspected it was discovered that the rear coil springs were fractured on both sides of the vehicle, and the fracture was covered with rust which was an indication that the coil springs were damaged long before they broke....consumer had the old springs in his possession if inspection was needed. Also, indicated the rear coil spring failure was similar to the manufacturer's recall 04S17. However, Ford denied consumer's request for reimbursement that manufacturer's recall was only for front coil spring failure.
