17109-Service Update. Certain vehicles, equipped with all-wheel drive (RPO F48), may have a condition in which the rear differential carrier assembly could apply higher than commanded torque at high mileage. Excessive torque application on certain low traction surfaces could cause the rear propeller shaft to fracture during low-speed, wide open throttle acceleration. If this condition occurs a loud pop followed by a grinding noise may be heard and significant vibration may be felt. Dealers will reprogram the rear differential clutch control module.
