The windshield wipers will come on and not turn off. I have had it at the mechanic for this at least 5 times. It happens whenever it rains or the windsield or some part gets wet, like a car wash. After drying out, usually at least a few hours of no moisture, the wipers stay off. Takata recall - it's been at least 3 years and this is a truck I've driven for a quarter of a million miles - yet no response or fix available from GMC

"takata recall " parts still not available to fix my truck dealer has not offered another means of transportation to me. I have 2 children that ride in my truck daily since it is my only transportation to work and taking them to school, sports activities, store etc. And all other places I have to have a vehicle to get to. I do not feel safe driving my truck with a huge safety issue thats been recalled for over a year now. Especially with having my 2 children in the vehicle 75 %of the time. Parts not being available still at this point GM should be making sure I have a safe vehicle to drive until they can fix it. The airbag light has now came on and off a few different times now.

I received a recall notice for my passenger airbag. I contacted sam swope Pontiac where I purchased the vehicle new. I spoke to many different there approximately 5 times. Each time I was told that they did not have the part, therefore they could not replace the airbag. Because I was told they never received the replacement part, I contacted the parts department directly. I was told that they were able to order the part, however I would have to pay $760.60. It is apparent they do not want to fix this problem or adhere to the recall standards. Because it is a recall, the replacement should come at no cost to the consumer. Please help and advise me in the direction I should take. I am afraid to drive my vehicle without the airbags, which was included as a working part when I ordered it. I have not had a wreck, however I don't feel safe driving this vehicle which I paid full price for brand new. Because they wont adhere to the recall policy, any accident resulting in injuries would be ground for a law suit. I do not want anyone to get hurt and this problem must be fixed. Please help me. I've exhausted all means in trying to get this recall part installed. Thank you for your help.

Dash has cracked on passenger side where the air bag will deploy. Concerned that it may affect the deployment or send shards on deployment that could injure someone. This is a safety issue! it was brought to my attention by a friend with the same model Chevy and is a common issue. GM needs to replace as it's an obvious defect with their trucks.

TL-contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck.... received recall letter two years ago for airbags... spoke with GM and GM stated parts are not available to fix airbags..... 1recallsassociated with this VIN May 27,2016 manufacturer recall number2049152 NHTSA recall number 16V383 recall status recall incomplete, remedy not yet available summary takata corporation ('takata') has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2008 Cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. GM has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted GM until August 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. If the petition is denied, GM will conduct a recall of the airbag inflators covered by takata's defect information report. For more information visit www.regulations.gov and search for docket no. NHTSA-2016-0124. Safety risk the propellant in some types of takata airbag inflators can degrade over time, especially after long term exposure in hot and humid regions. If the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries. Remedy the necessity of a remedy is dependent upon NHTSA's decision on GM's petition for inconsequentiality. Additional information will be available following that decision.
