Air conditioning began not producing cold air. In less than a couple hours only ambient air was being blown out of the vents. This is a known problem with GM vehicles years 2014-2015. GM has put out a service bulletin to it's dealers on this problem yet refuses to assist it's customers. Based on online searches there are thousands of GM customers who are having the same issue.

A/C stopped cooling last spring/summer. I live in Louisiana so driving without A/C was not an option, especially with children and elderly parents. I was told that this was a nationwide issue due to a faulty design, but that GMC would not pay to repair it. I had to pay over $1,000 out of pocket to get this fixed. GMC needs to reimburse everyone who has had this problem.

My truck only has 50000 miles and the air conditioner no longer blows cold air. I recharged they ac system an two months later it again only blows warm air. Did research and numerous owners of this vehicle are having the same issue. Some have had it repaired and it has been identified as a faulty weld at the compressor. A manufacturer defect that GM refuses to repair.

The ac condenser was leaking, which made the ac blow hot air. After much research, this has been an ongoing, and known, issue that has not been addressed. Many individuals have been taken advantage of monetarily (me just yesterday) because of this issue, and needs to be recalled. I just had hip surgery, and the cost of repair really put a financial strain on me. I live in Texas, and no ac is not an option.

2014-2015 GMC Sierra were produced with a known faulty A/C condenser with a bad weld that causes an A/C system leak requiring replacement. There has been an overwhelming failure of the product across the country, so bad to even make nbc news. GM became aware of this issue and sent new (properly produced) condensers to their production lines first, leaving hundreds of GMC owners without A/C over the summer. They put out a "special recall" on a very small number of vins saying it "may" happen in other vins. There is an overwhelming volume of complaints online (to include myself) to where GM is acknowledging this issue but refusing to cover the replacement cost of their faulty part for hundreds of owners having this issue. The replacement cost of this faulty part for my vehicle was $1,338.61 at the GMC dealership. I've called GMC and their response was: "it may happen with my VIN but they will not cover the replacement" even though I have confirmed that this was in fact the issue with my vehicle as well as hundreds of other owners across the country. Sierra 1500

  • 70,000 miles
At 70,000 miles, and 30 months after purchasing it new, the air conditioning stopped working due to a faulty condenser. After investigating this problem I found out that there is an extremely high failure rate of GMC trucks for the same exact problem. It is a well known defect per several GM dealers who are left to deal with the problem. A bracket to secure the A/C line was never installed when vehicle was built, causing movement in the line which eventually can ruin the condenser, ac line and compressor. I asked GM dealer to fix under warranty but was told that the repair would not be done under warranty. This is unacceptable, as the defect is widespread in many of their light trucks. I was forced to repair at my own expense when this is an obvious defect

Air conditioning hose between condenser and compressor failed. Needs a bracket to hold it. GM knows about this but has not called for recall. They charge $700 to fix. Virtually all 2014 Chevy and GM trucks are affected. I am very disappointed with GM. Truck had only 60K miles.

  • 59,970 miles
Air conditioning went out in April 2017. Dealer replaced schrader valve and reloaded refrigerant. Failed again in a few days. Dealer then told me GM had a design failer on air conditioning unit and did a nationwide recall of the A/C condensor. My air conditioner was not repaired until August 4, 2017 when the dealer got the A/C condensor. I not only paid $198 for the original fix, but also $350 for the final fix which I continue to monitor. All because of a design failure attributed to GM. Why is this my problem and why do I have to pay?

Started my truck on 7/30/17 and had no cold air blowing from the vents. Drove it for the day and still nothing. Took it into the dealer on 8/2/17 and received the diagnosis of a cracked ac condenser. The fix is not possible for 6-8 weeks because there is a national backorder on a replacement condenser from GMC. This is a design issue and not a ware and tear issue. The dealerships want the owners to pay for it even though their design is at fault to begin with.
