My buddy and I lowered my tailgate on my 2000 GMC Sonoma, after about a minute, both cables snapped in the exact same spot. It was obvious that the cables were rusted from the inside out. There were not any injuries, but now I can't use my tailgate for anything. I am also scared that it may be stolen, since the time it would take to steal it is now shortened.
