Yukon SLT 6.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 53,000 miles

We bought our Yukon used in January 2012. It had low mileage 27,000. We purchased the extended warranty. The dash cracked in 2 places last week. We got the run around for 4 days, GM never returned our calls, then we called GM and got word tonight it is not covered. They said it may be covered under our extended warranty. However I'm not getting my hopes up after reading the posts by other owners who have experienced the same thing. This should definitely be a recall, how do you file a class action lawsuit?

Yukon 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

I have 3 cracks in my dashboard one on driver side (above instrument cluster), one by the passenger air bag and a small one starting in the middle. I even use a sun shade when vehicle is parked. This is outrageous! I take great care of my Yukon inside and out. They need to do a recall on this problem ASAP.

Yukon SLT V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Like other complaints that I read, the truck is only five years old and I just noticed it recently the same cracks as described by others. I haven't been to the dealer yet, but I am pissed by this. The truck is a great truck and built really well, but this has to be a manufacturing defect. It's not a coincidence that everyones dash is cracking at the same areas. I will take pictures and post them later.

Yukon XLT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,524 miles

I first notice a small crack on the dash near the passenger air bag compartment. The "small crack" has continued to grow and is quite large. I am concerned about the safety of passengers if an accident should occur. I have consulted a body shop and was told I should contact GMC dealership and inquire about a recall or insist that this problem be repaired.

Yukon LT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 88,614 miles

My dealership said they had never heard of this happening, or seen it happen on one of their vehicles, so I'm trying to find out if this is a factory default, and if there is a recall, or should be one. You would know that it would happen right about the time I would be ready to trade or sell the vehicle. Just want to know if it is a widespread problem with the 2007 GMC Yukon LT model.

Yukon 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

Has anyone heard anymore about the cracked dashboards in GM's 2007 line? I first complained about the dash being cracked in 2009. It was a small crack but I was told that it would cost $853 to replace. Unbeknownst to me, that crack on the passenger side by the airbag has now become so large you can actually see through it. It has literally caved in. I also just noticed an additional crack in the driver's side dashboard. I contacted GM who at first appeared as though they would help under their "goodwill" program. Not so, I filed my complaint and when "Roger" called me back I was told that since I had 100K miles it wouldn't be covered. I explained that I first complained at 70K miles. Roger then backed up to say it was not covered after 36K miles. I asked for his last name and he refused. I asked to speak with his supervisor and she was busy. I asked for her extension and was told she doesn't take calls and it wouldn't matter because her answer would be the same. There was nothing I could do. Could the crack around the passenger airbag be dangerous? I've seen numerous complaints on the internet regarding this same problem. I explained to Roger that the mileage had nothing to do with a manufacturer's defect since there were many more out there with much lower mileage. Anyone have any suggestions?
