I drive a 2000 Accord coupe LX 4 cyc. And some time my car would just lose power and die. Once my car loose power I can no longer have control of the car. Several times during a turn and with traffic behind me. Lucky I was able to pull over to the side before any accident occurred. I took the car to the dealership many times, but each time they said nothing was wrong and there are no recalls on 2000 but only 98-99 Accord. They said that they will be more then happy to look into the issue but at my expensive. I was outraged that nothing is being done to fix this issue. I think this is a serious problem that Honda needs to fix before I myself and/or others get seriously injured. I have expressed my concerns to many dealerships but none of them are willing to find a fix.

I can remove the key from my 2000 Accord while the gear shift is still in drive. I did this once thinking I had placed the car in park, and after exiting the car it began to roll backward. Despite the fact there was a recall on 98 and 99 Accord for this same problem, the folks at Honda customer service told me I need to take my car to a Honda dealer and pay to have it inspected. However, they didn't promise me they could do anything for me after the inspection.

Since the vehicle's VIN wasn't on the recall list, the dealership refused to repair the vehicle which experienced the defect of the recall. The vehicle experienced an ignition switch problem. The dealer refused to fix the ignition problem. The vehicle would be started then die out immediately. The consumer would have to turn the ignition on and off for about 10 ten times before it would start again then would have to step on the gas right away otherwise the vehicle would die again. The consumer requested assistance for the repair. Service bulletin#00059617925

There was a recent recall of Honda autos for malfunctioning ignition switch that allows removal of key while not in park. I have a 2000 Accord SE with that problem, but the 2000's were not included in the recall. It should be. Thanks.
