Honda just issued Technical Bulletin 02034 (update 06-009) for a faulty control unit that caused the SRS to come on. The warranty is for 10 years or 150,000 miles. I called the Honda dealer in San Francisco and was told that there is a charge of $138.50 for checking. If it is the control unit, Honda will pay for everything. If not, I will have to pay the $138.50 myself.

I took the car to the dealer after the SRS light came on and would not go off. They reset and stated the computer said it was caused by a low battery or battery was jumped. Neither is true as the battery is only 2 years old and it has never been jump started. The SRS light came back on 3 hours after leaving the dealer. They told me if it came back on then the system would have to be replaced at a high cost and is not covered by the warranty.

SRS Light is on. Earlier, it used to come on at different times, and now it stays on all the time. The dealer told me that the airbags won't deploy if the SRS light is on, which is pretty annoying. I was told that it would cost a lot of money to fix the problem.
It appears that this is a common problem in all 2000 and 2001 Honda Accords (Google it, and you'll know what I mean). This is an important safety feature, and I feel Honda should provide a lifetime warranty, just like they do for seatbelts.

The SRS light came on after a long drive through a rain storm. Perhaps a coincidence, but a big inconvenience. Have not gotten a clear answer from any source.

Srs light is coming on at different speeds and at different times, sometimes stays on longer then 2 minutes. Had car at dealer twice but they are helpless. My wife is driving this car and answer from dealer is that she is not heavy egnough to put pressure on the sensors which are in the seat . What an immature statment this is. She drives this car for over four years and never had this problem until now and her weight did not change.

My SRS light has been on for several months, I do not have the money to fix it. Now, I get paperwork stating there is a problem with the SRS light in other cars, however, I do not qualify because I DRIVE TOO MUCH! How unfair is that, I have the same problem because it is a defect and they say it is my problem! I have to commute to work, but somehow Honda thinks you should limit the miles you drive. What a crock! I think it should be about the defective part not the mileage or time or anything. If they use defective parts everyone is entitled to a free repair! I just hope I do not have an accident and need those airbags. Honda should stand behind their mistakes.
