I have a 2000 Honda Accord. The "SRS" light came on the dash and stays on whenever the ignition is on. I took it to the dealer and they told me it is a switch within the driver's side seat belt buckle. They told me the belt and the buckle are covered under the seat belt warranty but the switch is not covered and the diagnostic test is not covered either. The whole assembly is part of the safety system and should be covered along with the diagnostic test.

The SRS light came on and has remained on since. My car is garaged, has 48,000 miles on it and has suffered no accidents. Your listing shows that many other Honda Accord have the same defect. Since this is a safety device I feel NHTSA should treat this seriously.

In may of 2008 my 2000 Honda Accord lost power while driving and would not restart. All of the gas ran out from the front of the car. The computer board had gone out. The computer board was replaced by another mechanic and then was towed to the Honda dealership to be reprogrammed. Since then it has gone back and was diagnosed with misfires. The coil packs, plugs and wires, fuel injectors, egr valve all have been replaced. The car is still spitting and sputtering like it is running on 4 cylinders and it is a V6. I have researched and there seems to be alot of these problems. Also the SRS light stays on and you can turn the car off and remove the key without the car being in park. I never received any kind of recall from the dealerships on this recall. This car was bought new in 2000.

The contact owns a 2000 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the SRS (safety restraint system) lights illuminated in her vehicle and would not dim. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the passenger side seat belt switch was the cause of the failure. The manufacturer asked her to sign a release, but the contact refused. The parts for the repair were ordered in March of 2008 and when she called again in April 10, 2008, she was informed that the parts were on backorder. Most recently, when she went to the dealer to check the status, she was informed that there was no record of the order. The current mileage was approximately 47,800 and failure mileage was 45,834. SRS light is on constantly. Paid dealer $100 to diagnose problem. I was told that both the left and right seat belt buckles need to be replaced at a cost of $600. I feel that this should be covered by the lifetime seatbelt warranty.

The SRS light stays on in my 2000 Honda Accord. The Honda dealership stated they reset the switch the first time I took my car in to be fixed. The light came back on a few days later. I took it back to the Honda dealership a second time and they said a switch in the seat belt needed to be replaced. In the mean time, the dealership stated that the air bags in my car are not working because of the SRS light being on.

The contact complained about the air bag sensor. The air bag sensor indicator light (SRS) came on intermittently. The light came on every time the car was driven. The opds switch short circuited. The warranty on the switch was for only 36 months or 36,000 miles. The switch had not been repaired. Updated 11/29/2005 - the consumer also had problems with the seat belts since the vehicle was purchased. This problem was brought to the attention of the dealer but they claimed there was no problem.
