My new Accord which I purchased w/2 miles on the odometer gets awful gas mileage. I noticed it was drinking a lot over the past 2 fill ups, so on my third fill up, I decided to conduct a MPG calculation and decerned that it was getting a mere 17 mph when it's advertised at 21 city.
My 99 Maxima gets an average of 24 city and it's a DOHC 24V V6. My Accord is a 2.4 I4 and sucks fuel like an SUV. Something is seriously wrong and I'm going to take it to the dealer. Luckily I have a friend who also has a 2008 Accord I4 so I can do a comparison so confirm that something is seriously wrong. I hope this problem can get fixed b/c I didn't invest $27k in one of Japan's best to get this type of mileage.

Purchased a brand new Accord 2008 EX-L
The MPG is way over what is listed for the vehicle.
It doesn't appear to have any issue but I'm getting between 16-18 MPG mostly city/urban driving.
Have put just over 1000K on the engine and not seeing much of an improvement.
I'm surprised at the poor fuel economy of this vehicle compared to the listed EPA City/Hwy and from what I'm seeing some people with the V6 engine seem to be getting comparable MPG.
There doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong with the vehicle other than the lousy MPG for a 4L is this normal?
