Accord

  • 5,500 miles
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions, the front and rear passenger air bags became exposed from the outer covering. There was no deployment. The air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and remained lit until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that the air bags were falling out of the headliner. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 5,500 and current mileage was 7,256.

Airbags did not deploy, a head on accident going at 40 mph hit a car going 45 mph. My bumper in the front was pulled off and the hood is bent but no airbags went off.

Accord

  • 10,000 miles
A month ago I had picked my boyfriend up from the airport and when he got out at a gas station he shut/slammed my front passenger door on my new 2008 Honda Accord. When this happened my side airbags on the passenger side deployed; both side window airbags and the side seat airbag. There was not enough impact for this to happen and no physical damage to the car. We were shocked by them deploying and counted our blessings no one was in that side of the car at that time. The car was in park and I was in the drivers seat. We have been fighting with Honda for a month now and they refuse to fix it under my warranty. My insurance has been investigating this for a week and a half now and too strongly feel this is a warranty issue. No one has ever heard of this happening and now I am still stuck with a brand new car that has the airbags taped up for me to be able to see out my windows. I feel this is defiantly a warranty issue and I want it to be known and people be warn so hopefully this will not happen to their new Accord.
