Accord LX V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125 miles

I had read about the uncomfortable car seats. So I was alert for it on my test drive. But I had NOT read that it can take about an hour to notice. Sure enough, I bought the car, drove it for an hour and was in pain. Now I dread getting into the car. Huge mistake by Honda. I would never have bought this car if I had known. Simple fix would be for Honda to provide a lumbar support adjustment - the seat as it is now, provides WAY too much support to be comfortable.

my thigh hurts after driving in traffic for a while. the seat is good for long drives, but when you have to apply brakes constantly in bumper to bumper traffic (like we have here in new york / new jersey) my leg starts hurting.

it is very uncomfortable indeed. My height is 5'9" - i am not very tall or fat....but still the seat is not comfortable

Both driver and passenger seat pushes out at the small of the back. This is a problem after about an hour in the car. Never had back issues or this type of problem from any of my other vehicles.

Okay, I bought this accord a few weeks ago, thinking I was buying a really good car, like a Honda is suppose to be really good. Well the seats make driving really dangerous because it hurts my neck and back so much. Isn't there something Honda can do to fix them. Apparently Honda is no good anymore.

I just purchased the car and after driving a significant distance I discovered how awful the seats are. The pressure points are really aggravating to my back and neck. I am not happy about this. I expected better from Honda. Now I am stuck with a new car I can't stand to drive. Shame on Honda!

Why did Honda put such uncomfortable seats in the Accord. Awesome looking car and it should be comfortable. This needs to be fixed ASAP! I just bought this car and I like everything except it gives me a back ache.

Accord LZ 2.4L

I am very unhappy with the seats. They offer no comfort. I am so disappointed with Honda. I did not notice this defect on a short test drive. I purchased Honda thinking the car would be defect free...but the seats are so uncomfortable this car is defective.

Accord LX-P 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

The seats are just awful in this car, I am in pain. I took a 2 hour road trip and it is the worst car I have ever had to sit in. This is my first Honda and I heard Honda was supposed to be great. I am not even close to being impressed. I hope Honda will come up with a fix for this important issue. I just got it and am ready to trade for another brand.

Accord LX-P 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25 miles

I strongly agree with other owners of Accords who have complained about uncomfortable front seats on the 2008 -2009 models. The bench part of the bucket seat (the part of the seat the fanny sits on) is too firm, plus there is not enough angular adjustment on this part of the seat. The front edge of the seat is tilted too high, regardless of adjustment, which causes pressure points on the bottoms of the thighs. The bucket seats on similar Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry sedans that I have sat in provide much greater range of angular adjustment, and it is possible to tilt the front edge of the seat down enough to avoid this problem. I also did not notice this problem after a short test drive.

Accord LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50 miles

Beware: the seats in the 2009 Honda Accord can be incredibly uncomfortable for some. The combination of hard padding, odd shaping, and head restraints that angle forward can make it impossible to find a comfortable position. This is not something that you discover yourself in a brief test drive, when you are focusing on other aspects and assume you'll be able to adjust the seat to fit you. I have had an 86 Accord and an 01 Accord that were perfectly comfortable, so assumed Honda knew what they were doing here. These problems were reported to them after the 08 model and they did not fix them. I wish I would have seen the other complaints about this before I bought it. Honda should be ashamed. I may have to sell this car, buy a Hyundai, and avoid Honda in the future depite the many things I like about the car.

Accord EX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45 miles

After driving this new car several times, my neck and lower back started aching. The seat is too hard, has no lower back support and the head rest is positioned way to forward, it hits the back of your head which prevents your neck and upper back area from getting any support from the seat. This is crazy. What the hell happened to Honda! There needs to be a fix for this from Honda. A little more foam in the lower back area and a head rest that is angled back for comfort would be a big improvement!.

I love the rest of the car!

Accord EX 4

This seat is unbelievably hard. It's so uncomfortable that I don't like to ride in it. If I can't get the problem fixed in some way I'll have to sell the car.

Update from Nov 20, 2015: I complained to Honda about the seats but they didn't give a damn. All I got were talking points repeated mindlessly. I looked for a solution but never found one so I sold the car after three months and 1,600 miles. This cost me about $5,000. I've owned 14 new cars and this Honda was the worst by far. I'll never buy anything made by Honda again.

Contacted the service dept about the uncomfortable seat with metal bar jabbing into my rear end. Was told this is a consistent complaint on 2008 Accords and the seats were not changed in the 2009. There is no correction currently available for the seat deficiency. Next contacted Honda and was told we were SOL and that it is the customers responsibility to research and determine the seat was comfortable before purchasing their product. We will never buy another Honda EVER again!!!!
