I have this honda accord less than 2 years and only 27000 miles on it. Its brake totally brocked and costed me $240 from my pocket. Dealer said American Honda warrenty does not cover the brakes. It is worst car I ever have. Also its warrenty service is worst I have ever seen.

Unfortunately I have an early morning appiontment at the Robertson's Palmdale Honda.. Yes the whole rear brake thing. I cant believe this is such a BIG issue, yet Honda hasn't done a thing to fix it. My car is less than 2 yrs old and has 30,000 miles on it. I babey my car since it is my very first brand new car I have owned and am still purchasing... I am VERY disappionted in Honda!!!

I am shocked to have brakes go out this early. At 19000 miles with 70% interstate driving. I haven't had such bad brakes since 1985. The Toyota Camry I traded for this vehicle had 40% brake life left at 70K miles. Even more astounding is the lack of response from Honda to right this problem and protect their reputation. They dragged their feet just like Toyota and wound up with a class action suit they now use as an excuse not to discuss the problem. My next car will probably be a Ford.

After only 11,800 miles my back brakes need replacing, huh? Even with the worst city driving conditions that you can drive in how would brakes get that bad??? Now it's going to cost me $200 bucks to get new brake pads and resurface the disks. I might need to get a different car once my lease is up. I've been with Honda for 13 years and I never had this problem.

Honda should own up to this issue and pay for the repair and future corrective work. Honda is also responsible for thousands of gallons of wasted gas from the increased drag on the car and the reduced MPG as a result of the rear brakes dragging on the rotor, this could also contribute to rotor warpage under the excessive heat build up it could cause in the rotor. Right now the dealers are sticking it to the consumer for all these repairs, so much for the kindly blue polo shirted honda guy in the commercials where is he now when there is an obvious issue. Will buy a Camry next time.

I had rear brakes wear out at 8000 miles ,Honda knowes about the problem but doesn't care. At 17000 miles the brakes wore out again. I will never buy another honda

I have a 2009 Honda Accord I am very anal about where I take my car for repairs, Oil Changes etc etc.. So I always take it to the dealer Rock Honda located in Fontana,CA. With that being said the workers are very nice but the work done on my car is horrible I had to change my brake pads way to early and they always give me some BS answers. Little do they know I have done my work and research and I know the answers they provide me are lies.......I have bought 5 cars from this place and this is the way they treat me....Last time I buy a Honda.

I am an owner of 5 honda products from cars to motorcycles and i have never had a problem with honda intill today!!!!! I just got off the phone with a service tech who tells me you need new back brakes. I said thats ok, there must have been a recall on the car and i just hadent recieved it in the mail yet. I figured the car is still under warranty there shouldn't be a problem. He tells me no!! "I am sorry but the brakes are not covered under the warranty". Apparently there was a class action law suit against honda about there brake pads on all the honda products especially accord!! I tell them you have to be kidding me!! He tells me the price and its not that much but come the @#$% on!! Did i mention my dad works for honda and he didn't even know about this lawsuit!!
I am so pissed off I am sending my bill to honda!! If i am not compinsated for this i will never buy another honda again!! Honda you should be ashamed with what you have done. At least TOYOTA came out and said we F#$%&? up!! Have some balls to tell your consumer that you decieved them and said here is a sh*tty brake pad for your 30,000 dollar car and, oh by the way i hope you don't crash your new car!!
Sincerly one pissed off customer!!

THIS IS WHAT HAPPEN WHEN YOUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER, BUT JUST ABOUT THE JOB. I HAD CALL WOLFCHASE HONDA OVER NUMERIOUS OF TIME CONCERN MY BRAKE PROBLEM AND ALSO CALL HONDA FINANICAL SERVICE ABOUT THE BRAKES TOO. HONDA FINANICAL MADE A STATEMENT SAY THAT THEY SHOULD REMOVE ME OUT OF THAT CAR AND PUT ME IN ANOTHER EQAUL TO LESSER PRICE.
BUT WOLFCHASE HONDA WOULDN'T DO IT. SO THAT I COULDN'T AFFORD TO PAY ANYMORE MONEY LIKE THAT OUT OF POCKET.
ON SATURDAY JULY 17TH I WAS ON MY WAY HOME WHEN MY BRAKES FAILED AND I COULDN'T NOT STOP CAR. AND I WAS IN A ACCIDENT DO TO MY BRAKE I HAVE CALL ON OVER SERVERAL TIME AND NO RESPONSE FROM THEM SO I CALL TODAY AND SPOKEN WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER HE PUT ME OFF ON A FINANCE MANAGER AND HE DIDN'T REALLY HELP ME. IT SEEM AS IF THEY REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER.THAT'S MY POINT OF VEIW.

Ok. I got my car on Jan 1 2009 and as soon as it hit 3K I had a warped back rotors. I took it to dealer and they resurfaced the rotor and told me if I had same situation in some time will replace the rotor. Then as soon as I hit 9K the car had same problem. huh... all the rotors are wraped and brake pads needs replacement also . What unreliable car are they making? Here I had personal issue with the service advisor , he was so rude to even listen to what my problem with the car. Dublin Honda denied to resurface the rotors. I filed complain with BBB and still they just say that under certain condition rear brake pad can wear off soon. I took the car to some independent shop and had the rotors resurfaced. After some time I filed the case with BBB Auto Line stating all about the car. I got 2 or 3 calls from their customer service telling they won;t do it it;s all my fault. I kept my persistance and headed with BBB Auto Line case . At first Honda told me they would offer a reimbursement for the repair done @ the independent shop however I did not agreed to it as i knew the resurfacing was a temp fix. I was just trying to see how far the barkes would go with resurfacing. When the arbitration date was finally fixed dealear replaced all the rotors and pads.
I am glad that BBB Auto Line helped me on this one. Never listen to delear they will just try to tell you you are not driving gud yadi yadi yada .. file the case with BBB auto line and see if the problem returns and again file. Its gud to know that Honda Canada has already accepted their shortcoming. Let;s hope Honda USA will also soon be smart to accept.

Almost hit 12k miles. Brakes squeaking like crazy. Took the vehicle to the dealership, apparently a known issue. Dealership charged me $150.00, gave me a claim form to be reimbursed. Left the dealership with a squeak, He assured me it has to break in. 7 days later, i now need front brakes and thats not covered. I hate honda..

Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance, California, acknowledged the premature wear of rear brake pads in 2008-09 Honda Accords and acknowledged the class action lawsuit. They admitted that the problem was due to defective design or a defective product on behalf of the manufacture but insisted I pay the roughly $180 up front to get this fixed and then figure out how to get my money later from the class action lawsuit. How insulting to a customer who has owned multiple Honda vehicles!! Have they heard of assuming responsibility for the manufacturer's mistake or better yet good customer service?

Had rear brakes replaced last week at 29k miles. It cost me $313 at Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington, MA. My friend who purchased a similar Accord (same make/model) received a call from his dealer (Bernardi in Natick, MA) informing him of a Honda service bulletin for rear brake replacement. They covered the cost of the service. I called Herb Chambers Burlington today and neither the service adviser nor the GM was aware of the bulletin. How can this be inconsistent? I'm assuming that this program is in place since I can't imagine that the Bernardi dealership would provide a complimentary brake replacement out of the goodness of their heart. I'm going to call Honda NA on Monday as well.

Just like many, my 2009 Honda Accord had premature brake wear. I took it in at 21K since they were squealing to the point I was getting annoyed with the sound. My dealer was awesome! Resurfaced all the rotors and replaced the front pads for free under warranty and replaced the rears as part of the class action suit all for $90. So all I have to do now is fill out the claim and get my money back for the rear pads.
Yes, Honda should have known better and due to the class action, they deny any problem but are willing to pay for new pads. Other than the brakes, everything else is fine. Talk to your dealer and make sure they dont try to rip you off and they SHOULD already know about the Class Action and be willing to lower the price for you.

I took my 2009 Accord for a routine oil change, and was very disappointed to learn that i needed to have my rear brake pads replaced, due to PREMATURE WEAR.

I bought my car not even a year ago with only 2miles on my 2009 Honda Accord. I then started noticing my brakes are making a loud noise possible, i called honda to see if this was covered under my warranty and of course NO!!! But they want me to pay to have my rear breaks fixed i was even told they were fixing the breaks before the suit but now they WANT YOU TO JOIN the class action suit then we may be able to get our money back or some WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT SOME OF MY MONEY WHEN THEY SCREWED UP THE FREAKING CAR? that to me is complet bullshit.... they want to get paid and make you join the suit in order for us to get our money what is that...? JUST FIX THE PROMBLEM HONDA CREATED ... i mean this is more running around for everyone else and us doing the job to get the promblem fixed and when you work full time and have a new baby on the way with a 5 year old its kinda of hard to stop everything i am doing in order to fix a promblem honda made... On top of it the way the economy is right now no one can afford to pay for a promblem they didnt make. I THINK WE SHOULD ALL JOIN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT...

I have always been a Honda owner.. Last time, I lease a 09 Accord EXL-V6 it is up in 10/2011. The run around to try to get reimbursed for a measly 185.00 for my rear brakes that should of lasted 70 thousand miles, went at 17000. Never again. I should go American and make this country thrive again..lol (I don't know about that).. I was told to call American Honda. This gentleman told me to try calling back 7/26/2010 about the class action lawsuit results to see where i stand.. This is bullsh*t.. They should really take better care of there customers, as for we pay there salaries..

I arrive to my Honda service shop and they said that the cost of the replacement of the brake pads i had covered because there is an issue with class action demand. So I have to pay and then wait for a paper that later will arrive so i can get a refund.
