My SRS light came on and when I took it to Honda of fishers in Indiana I was told it would be a $100 just to run the diagnostics and since my specific model of car isn't under a current recall I would have to pay for any repairs needed out of pocket. This doesn't seem fair as my car should have a lifetime warranty on seat belts and related SRS components. I would think they would at least provide a free diagnostics to make sure my airbags will work correctly as part of a safety matter. I found many 2010 Accord were recalled but apparently my Accord coupe wasn't.

Takata recall? (no mention of the airbag manufacturer was made in the recall letter). I received a recall notice from Honda in July of 2016. Stating that Honda will send me another letter when parts are available to repair my vehicle. Also stating that "Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed". this was 6 months ago. 6 months is a long time to operate a vehicle without being able to have a passenger in the front seat. I did stop in the dealership where I purchased the car and they assured me I would be contacted when parts became available. I have not heard anything back from Honda.

Takata recall we live in a hot, humid state and the vehicle needs its airbag replaced. My young daughter, slightly built, drives the vehicle and she is the most affected type should an air bag disperse. It's unacceptable that it's taking so long for the air bag to be available. Remedy: The remedy parts needed to conduct passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016. Honda will notify owners in an initial letter with a second letter being mailed when parts are available. Owners may contact Honda automobile customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is KA4. Recall status: Recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available
