SINCE I HAD THE CAR WHEN I PUSHED THE START BUTTON THE CAR MADE A GRINDING NOISE AND WOULD NOT START. I FIGURED IT WAS THE STARTER AND DEALT WITH IT. I RECENTLY HAD MY BRAKES FIXED AND THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE FLY WHEEL. I LOOKED ON LINE AND SAW NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT. THERE IF OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN THE PART. THE SERVICE BULLITN WAS ISSUED IN 2013 SO MY CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER WARRANTY. I BOUGHT 2 2013 HONDAS I'M HOPING HONDA WILL TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE AT THEIR EXPENSE. The starter intermittently grinds/spins when starting, replaced starter and problem still happens. Multiple complaints to the problem on line.have located Honda's service bulletin tsb 16-002 but Honda claims my VIN not covered by extended warranty.

Push button start is acting up. At times when you push button to start the car it only clicks, after a few tries the car will start. I have seen several complaints on this. Honda has admitted to an issue with the V6 model but not the V4 model that is having the same issue

So just like all the other complaints, my car won't start every time I hit the starter button. After I press it it makes a really loud whining sound, I am currently on my 3rd replacement starter, and 2nd alternator. I think it's crazy, after all these complains everywhere that nothing has been done. I gave Honda the benefit of the doubt, because of their history of reliability, but this is too much. I need a new starter too actually so starter #4 here I come. This is a serious issue.

Starter failed, and we were stranded at the new market post office for an hour. The battery is good, but Honda mechanic said the starter is failing. I took the car to the sunnyvale Honda dealer for diagnostic and they told me it was the starter problem. It costs me $936 to replace the starter including parts and labor. At times the car will not start when the ignition key is turned. It will start on the second turn. On 11/17/2017, it did not start on the second try. I called for a tow truck. The driver arrived and after turning the key multiple times, the car started. He stated that it is the starter and to have it checked.

Takata recall. I was checking under the hood of my Honda and I checked my oil level and there was not a drop of oil in the engine. I didnt know why this was so I changed the oil fast to prevent the engine from damaging. Now 1400 miles after my oil change the engine is half way dry of oil. Car caught fire starting in engine compartment. Was stopped at a stop light, in left turn lane, when smoke was first noticed. I got out of the car and fire progressed in a few minutes to where flames were coming out from under the hood. Local fire company extinguished the fire. Car appears to be a total loss. Safety recall NHTSA 17V-418 was only recently received and had not yet gotten the car to the dealer.
