1. Starting System I have had trouble starting with the push button for about 3 weeks. It sometimes would take several tries before turning over. Most times, it would start in 1 -?" 2 attempts. It was worse this last week. I had to try more often, especially on Thursday night. I did not drive at all on Friday. On Saturday 7/1/23, I drove to the pharmacy less than < 1 mile. it did not start after dozens of tries after shopping. I walked home. Later, I had other errands taking our Odyssey. Back at the parking lot, I tried again dozens of times and it would not start. I tried moving the gears from park to neutral, trying to start it and going back again. I called AAA for a tow and called service department to let you know of the issue and the towing to the dealership. I had noticed that when pressing down on the brake pedal, the car started most often when the pedal went down easily. It would usually not start with the pedal being very stiff. 2. Warning Lights on dashboard On Thursday 6/30/23, the warning lights on the dashboard all lit up and stayed lit. The odometer message was FCW failed. I had this problem before which should be in the service history of the vehicle. That problem occurred in August, 2019 and beyond. The throttle assembly was ultimately replaced, and it worked fine after that until now. I had been advised by one of the service representatives to use Shell or Costco gas. I have done that for over 90% of the fill-ups. In the past, the system would reset itself. But several times, the car went into -??Creep Mode-?? when the errors occurred. Once while crossing the border into Niagra Falls, Canada and on I-90 in rush hour traffic. 3.Stalling I have had several cases when the car stalled when idling at stop lights, in stop and go traffic or in reverse. I was nearly a hood ornament for an 18-wheeler in Columbia, SC in April. It stalled and took several attempts to start.

The VSA ABS modulator failed, and it will be available for inspection upon request. The failure of this causes the ABS system to not work along with traction control. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic that pulled the codes and then taken for an estimate to the Honda dealer who confirmed the issue with the modulator. There are 4 warning lights in addition to the "FCW System Failed" message on the dash. The ABS light, traction control, FCW, and Tire Pressure indicator lamps all display and cannot be cleared. The FCW System Failed message cannot be cleared to be able to see other maintenance that is due such as an oil change or to view current mileage. The message and warning lights just popped up unexpectedly while pulling into to parking spot. For a brief time, the steering wheel would shake while driving making it appear that there was another issue, but there was not.

LDW, FCW, brake, ABS, etc. lights flashing. After much research it appears this is a known problem that affects thousands of Honda vehicles. I have found that the VSA Module is responsible- the solenoid is bad. This part needs to be replaced but is on back order with an unknown date when it will be available. Honda has been aware of this problem for many years!! This is a safety issue and is unsafe to operate this vehicle. As there are no replacements available there is no other option but to drive it as I need my car. If an accident occurs due to this part malfunctioning it will be Hondas responsibility due to the fact that they have known this is a problem and that there are no replacements available!!

The power steering seemed to have gotten "stuck" in place or so it felt or seemed for a short time while driving. I have noticed that when I am turning the wheel that I can hear noise when turning as if it's not moving smoothly. If my power steering stops working while driving or gets stuck, then that could pose a serious problem to me and other drivers. The problem is daily now with the sound of every left or right turn. This component has not been inspected by anyone yet. There weren't any warnings.

I had several warning light appear on the dashboard, and the dealership said that my VSA modulator was starting to go bad. This device controls power steering, anti-lock brakes and other functions. While driving to the Honda service department, the brakes were very low and the steering was loose (dangerous conditions). After doing some research, I found that Honda recalled the VSA modulator on other models, but not for my 2014 Accord. Many other owners of the same model stated that their VSA modulators failed around 34k-36k miles (right at the end of warranty). I still have the original VSA modulator, the dealer just reset the warning lights and sent me on my way. I am writing to request an investigation for Honda to extend the VSA modulator recall to more models, such as the 2014 Accord.

I was on a busy highway, going uphill. The car suddenly decreased speed to 40 mph for about 60 seconds. The car then lost all acceleration with the gas engine still running. Dash warning said "Power system failure". I was able to maneuver the car to the side of the road and call AAA to have it towed to the Honda dealership. Dealership repair center was unable to find a problem.

This generation of Honda has known issue with the push start button to start the car. It sometimes take 3 to 4 or more attempts to start the car successfully. It has a grinding/whirring sound when the engine failed to start. I think it-??s a clearance issue between the engine flywheel/torque converter and the starter motor that cause the engine failed to start. I strongly believe Honda should have a recall on this issue to resolve the clearance issue because it-??s clearly the engineering design flaw on Honda.

I filed a complaint on 3/28/2022 regarding the ignition starter, original request 588668, sometimes the car starts and then it doesn't and I had the starter replaced (with Honda parts), however now this ignition starter is doing the same. I was told that the wires get corroded and hence the starter needs to be replaced. I find this to be a hazard, what happens if the engine just stops"?" I feel Honda should have had a recall on this, as I researched this on the internet and I found numerous articles about this issue. For a new starter it cost me a little over six hundred dollars, ($600) with no reimbursement. My 2nd complaint number is 501018. The starter failed after only 35,000 miles. It is available for inspection upon request. Problem was diagnosed and starter replaced by Firestone Car Care in late November 2022. Problem first detected in early November 2022 and became increasingly frequent that the car would not start. Was stranded a few times and other times had to try starting the car multiple times over the course of several minutes. No warning lights, messages or symptoms prior to failure. Vehicle has not been inspected by police, manufacturer or insurance agent.

The starter fails to work. This was an unsafe situation while parked in a store parking lot at night. Vehicle starter was inspected by Honda technician who identified the starter failed. There was no warning signs, no dash engine light sign. This issue did not show up on the diagnostic that was recently done on my car during routing maintenance. The battery in my vehicle is new. I've not missed any regular maintenance on my vehicle since I purchased it in 2014 and the car is well taken care of and clean.

The vehicles ABS control module has been an issue with this vehicle. This needs to be recalled because A bad ABS module can behave erratically, making your brakes lock up even under normal braking, compromising my families safety. It was confirmed today at the Honda Dealership, in which I questioned, -??How does this happen to a vehicle with less than 100k miles" If this is a safety concern why isnt there a safety recall"-?? At that time, the representative became unaware why there wasn-??t a recall. The vehicle has been inspected by Honda. Yes, the vehicle light sensors are produced: BRAKE LIGHT ABS LIGHT TRACTION CONTROL POWER STEERING ALL THAT COMPROMISE SAFETY. PLEASE ASSIST.

For the second time the starter needs to be replaced. First failure car had 33,097 miles on it. Now informed that I again need a new starter and car has 67,136 miles. First time the vehicle was just over 36 months and cost approximately nine hundred dollars to repair. Safety concern due to unreliability of vehicle leaving owner stranded and informed this is a common problem with this model.

Several months ago, my Honda that has run very well up until now, started having problems with starting. I took it to Advance Auto and they thought it was the battery so I bought a new battery for over $200. That didn-??t help. Then my husband noticed that the dashboard showed to push the brake, gas pedal and starter at the same time. That didn-??t really help because sometimes it starts and sometimes doesn-??t. We made an appointment at a local dealer where we purchased the car and the maintenance man suggested a new starter but reading through the complaints on here, that doesn-??t always help. So he will cancel our appointment. With so many complaints on here about the car not starting, I think it-??s your duty to come up with a resolution that works. Several times I have driven the car to places not near our home and the car won-??t start. I think this is an unsafe condition and should be repaired!

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" Computer System Firmware, available for inspection, currently at dealership. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk" Multiple dashboard functions not functioning at random. Appears related to a firmware update provided under another recall (Bulletin 15-055:6ZS00EPS Software Update). It is suspected due to timing of incident onset, beginning the day after service. Firmware was installed by dealership service dept. It is unknown at this time all of the buttons affected. Since buttons on steering wheel are affected, and cruise control is also located there, this could pose a severe hazard if cruise control does not respond to a disable request. Cell Phone, radio, display change functions do not work from dashboard. There was a follow up software update (on same EPS system) performed by dealership on June 30, 2020 that improved condition for one day, returning to same issues on the 2nd drive. 2014 Honda Accord (bought new June 2014). Replaced original starter 6-5-22 @70,500 miles. Replacement starter failed 6-14-22. Second starter installed 6-15-22. As of 6-26-22 the starter grinds and will not start intermittently. Top quality starters installed both times.

Car will randomly not start. Initially, the no start condition occurred once every couple of weeks. After a month or so it was happening multiple times a week. The car became so unreliable I was forced to get it repaired. Independent repair shop quoted me $350 for the starter repair (parts and labor). Multiple Honda service departments quoted me between $750 - $850 for the same repair. Each of the service managers from the three Honda dealers I spoke with told me that aftermarket starters did not perform well in this vehicle. After doing some research, this seems to be the case. I ended up replacing the starter at a Honda dealer whose service manager worked with me to get the final price to $650. This is a common problem with this vehicle and the repair cost me an extra $300 because the aftermarket starters are unreliable in this vehicle.
