Low beams keep burning out after 2 to 4 months of use. I have replaced both headlights at least 5 times in the lat 3 years. Just ridiculous. Dealership just replaces bulbs and the bulbs continue to burn out way to quickly. Even purchased longer life headlights and replaced both at same time, one bulb still burned out within 3 months. Honda needs to address this problem which many are experiencing on their 2006 CRV.

I own a 2006 Honda CR-V (bought in 2009). I am constantly having to change the headlamp bulbs as they simultaneously burn out. Now I am plagued with my console lights burning out...I have read that there are many issues with owners of Honda CR-V involving the wiring harness. I have an appt. This afternoon to have yet another service call made on my Honda...Honda had a recall previously for the same issues back in 2002-2004 CR-V and obviously the situation has carried over into the 2005-2006 models...Honda needs to do a recall on the 2005, 2006 and any other year models that are having the same issue(s). How do we as consumers go about filing complaints so that Honda is prompted to do a recall? I have always driven Honda vehicles for the most part but am seriously considering a different car in the near future. Kia...Toyota.....Ford escape.....I am tired of taking my CR-V in for headlamp and wiring issues the past 4 years now.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that there was a loud bang from heard from under the hood. In addition, the air conditioning unit began to emit hot air. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the compressor had exploded. The explosion destroyed the air conditioning unit, in which the full air conditioning unit and compressor would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 101,979 and current mileage was 102,000.

My wife and I have owned our Honda CRV since early 2006. It has had numerous electrical issues, specifically issues with the headlights and interior lights. We have had to replace the headlight bulbs at least once a year since purchasing the CRV. It is clearly a major defect with the Honda CRV electrical system. I have seen numerous complaints on the internet by others with this same issue. Honda is responsible and needs to recall the CRV and fix the issue. I will never purchase another Honda again.

I had a brake light go out on the passenger side of the 2006 CR-V. I replaced the light bulb, but when you press the brake pedal, if the headlights are on, the break light will not work. I talked with numerous people on the internet and at the auto parts store who have had the exact same problem with the same model of vehicle as mine (CR-V). My Honda master mechanic believes that there should be a recall on this electrical problem because there are so many of these that he has seen and that have been seen by dealerships. Is there a reason why Honda has not recalled the 2006 Honda CR-V for this electrical problem? I bought 6 different lights, thinking that maybe I just bought a bad light or lights. I also switched the lights with the light that works on the opposite side (driver's side), but it won't work on the passenger side. If people are complaining about this on the internet and everywhere, but not filing a complaint on here, I figured that nothing would happen, so that is why I am sending this information in, in hopes that someone will look into the problem. While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suffered a right hand low beam headlight failure. Since this first failure the bulb of this headlight has had to be replaced approximately 10 times, and continuously burns out again. The fuses remain good, the relays remain good. It appears there is a wiring harness problem affecting this year model as a google search reveals hundreds of owners of this vehicle experiencing a same or similar issue. Most reference a heat damaged wiring connector underneath the steering column.

Driver's side window is malfunctioning. It gets stuck in the upright position, thus not closing the window. Several occasions, the window will stick and not disengage to roll back down. The vehicle was taken into to Honda with the recall notice. The advisor did not read recall notice and told me that the window would be sealed. Two hours later, the window was stick stuck in the upright position not fixed. 12/15/2012, took the vehicle back into Honda. I told the attendant that the master power switch needs to be repaired or replaced due to the recall. The window is still malfunctioning. The advisor then said it is a motor problem, and disregarded the recall notice. I said I will call american Honda for more information. The repair has not been made.

My low-beam headlights have failed at least 4 times in the past year. At one point both headlights were out when I went to start the car in the evening. I've taken the car to a local vendor (not the dealer). Initially, they did some electrical work, stating there was a short in the system, but have since replaced the bulbs 4 times in the past year. Honda informs me that my VIN is not part of their headlight recall.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda CR-V. the vehicle was parked and unoccupied when half of the front driver's side interior door panel completely melted. In addition, the front driver's seat as well as the sun visor melted. When the contact entered the vehicle there was no smoke present however black soot appeared on the front driver's side door window glass and gray soot. The front driver's side wiring harness was stuck to the lower plastic door trim. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 11V456000 (electrical system) but the VIN was ineligible for the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Vehicle began surging then lost power. Dash warning lights for vsa, engine, and "!" came on as vehicle lost power then stalled. Turned off ignition and then restarted. Ran fine after it cooled off for a few minutes. Still happening over a year later. Internet search reveals this is a common problem spread across many model years. Dealers unable to solve problem and have no idea what is causing it.

During heavy rains, water will seep in under the carpets from somewhere forward and lower than the windshield. The water comes from under the dashboard, usually on the passenger side. It does not drip in, but rather soaks up from under the carpet. I personally have seen the water grow up to 2 inches in depth above the carpets. After some internet searching, similar problems were found in earlier models of CR-V. the issues found stemmed from faulty/old factory seals on items like the firewall and A/C vents. The fire department appeared on the scene to extinguish the fire. The fire department also stated that the fire was due to faulty wiring within the door panel. Both low-beam headlights out at the same time. Worked fine in the morning. In the evening went to move car into driveway, and had no low-beams. High-beams and turn indicators worked fine. Checked fuses, checked relays, replaced both headlight bulbs (H1) and headlight switch with oem replacement part from auto zone.
