Recurring issues since purchase new in February 2006: 1. low beam headlights burn out prematurely, regardless of bulb type, etc. 2. brake pads & rotors- rotors had to be turned every 15K then replaced every 30K when using Honda parts; at 90K, changed to replacement parts and not Honda parts; mileage is currently 186,000 and still on same set. Reporting issues for consumer reference as Honda dealership was not helpful from day 1 so found an excellent shop to handle everything except recalls. Reported because experiencing same headlight issues as complaint 10809120. Date is approx based on when issues began.

Headlight bulbs continue to blow. Then can blow after a couple of months or a year after installation. But they blow often enough that when they go, I immediately go to the store to buy replacements. Just this evening, I had a the right side go when I replace the left side just yesterday. I fear that both may go at the same time when my wife or I are behind the wheel with our infant in the backseat. The bulbs have blown while going down the road, as well as when parked. Since we acquired this vehicle in 2009, I have replaced over a dozen bulbs. I have only recently started saving receipts to better track this issue.

Complaint mimics the complaints here in the NHTSA, complaint #'s 10573302, 10576909 and 10619157 for low beam lamps burning out prematurely since I first purchased it as a used vehicle back in 2008 from larry miller Honda in hillsboro Oregon much like what happened to the civic models for starters. What I don't understand is why Honda America is not responding, what is the nhsta doing to apply pressure to issue a service bulletin?

The passenger-side headlight on my 2006 CR-V went out 06/10/15, so I had it replaced @Honda dealer next day. The tech said high-beam was also out! I questioned the likelihood of such an occurrence, but was not given any response that indicated a "known issue" with the headlights/wiring. Just a few hours later, the new low-beam bulb I bought thur. 11 June, went out! never got highbeam replaced because parts dept. Was out of them. I went online & found the following serious problems reported on link below by many CRV owners -- lots of other 2006 crvs experienced recurring failure! see: And after reading the comments of many other Honda CRV owners on the above link, I see why they're out of stock! this is seriously dangerous--I'm afraid now to drive it at night! recall is needed for 2006 CR-V headlight failures. Other Honda experiencing multiple/ frequent headlight failures were recalled, but not my CR-V.

With ever-increasing regularity, one or both low-beam bulbs have been burning out. Have replaced one or both at least 5 times, the last time was both bulbs, after exactly 34 days since purchased new at O'reilly's. owner has installed bulbs every time. All precautions were taken, including not touching the base with bare skin, or glass - with anything. The last time - 34 days prior to last failure - owner applied terminal grease to bulb terminals, even though there was plenty already in place. Researching the internet, owner noted stories of corrosion or heat damage on terminals of headlight switches of certain Honda models. Owner disassembled his steering column, and found no evidence. Owner also noticed early on (2013) what appeared to be flickering or pulsing of headlights at night. Owner installed permanent digital voltmeter to battery, and noticed no fluctuations in voltage, with a steady voltage of 14.15V under normal nighttime conditions. The last pair of bulbs to burn out were examined. Owner noted that the coiled portion of the tungsten element was completely intact. The wire just before or just after the coiled portion had been interrupted, and a small ball of molten tungsten was at the end of the severed wire opposite the coil. One bulb had the ball on wire just "upstream", the other bulb had ball on the "downstream" side of element.

Low beam headlight on passenger side of 2006 CR-V continues to fail. Both headlights have been replaced but the passenger side continues to go out monthly. I have complained to the dealer and asked if there is a solution and they only suggest replacing the bulb again. This is safety issue that Honda should be forced to resolve.

Low beam headlights constantly need to be replaced. Going through my 3rd replacement in about a year. Usually one goes out and then shortly after, the other one goes out. I had them both replaced about a month and half ago. I was leaving work and turned on the headlights and within a second, they both went out. It was dark so I had to drive home with my high beams on.

Low beam headlights fail every few months, sometimes while driving, necessitating replacement. It is a serious safety hazard. Many people with the 2006 CR-V have complained about this issue to Honda, the NHTSA and all over the internet. Why hasn't Honda issued a recall? Honda did have a recall for the 2002-2004 CR-V for the same issue, but not for the later years, saying that the headlight system was different in newer models. Maybe, but clearly the defect/hazard is in the 2006 model as well. I have reported this issue to Honda before and did so again today, and it is american Honda case # N012014-12-2301127. I insisted that they take a hard look at complaints about low beam headlight failure in the 2006 CR-V that have been filed with Honda and the NHTSA and issue a recall, as they did for the older models.

2006 Honda CRV since April 2013 I have gone through 17 headlight bulbs. That is the most I have ever had to put in any of my cars. If you type in troubleshooting problems with 2006 headlights you will see that there are many other people that are having this very same issue. I would like to think that you as a company would want to get this problem fixed or at least look at getting a fix. When I talked with my area dealer he didn't seem to think that this was a problem. I have had professional people install them that know better than to touch the bulb and they have gotten to the point that they won't install them for me anymore. They are worried that it may came back to them. I really hope that you will at least give me a thought as to look at your computer.

My vehicle has been going through headlights like crazy for the past two years. Approx. Every two months either the right or left side goes without warning. Most recently I decided to install higher end bulbs thinking that maybe the little 8.00 dollar ones were the problem. Wrong! I put a set of $50 bulbs in each side at the same time and less than a month later the drivers side went out! I drive on very dark rural roads at night coming home from work and if both of these lights fail at the same time I could be seriously hurt.

After the headlight bulb has been replaced numerous times, the right (passenger side) low beam headlight no longer lights. The bulb has been replaced with new, the old bulb is completely intact (filament as well as glass- no burned marks at all), and the fuses are not blown. The internet is full of complaints about this issue, and in fact Honda has recalled 550,000 previous Pilot and CR-V models for this failure. Seems the wiring harness is too short, and disconnects the low beam headlights. This is a clear safety issue, and is not due to owner error. Thank you.
