The passenger side locks will not stay locked.

Locks started locking within a second of being unlocked. So I could unlock the doors with the key button and pull quickly to open the door to get in. The locks would engage as soon as I got in. However, if I tried to manually unlock the door from inside, I would have to use two hands, and it was difficult. Once the doors closed the locks would immediately engage. As it turns out I locked my purse and keys inside. My spare key would not open it. There was no manual override! this is my concern. In case of an accident or a child inside, there was no way to open, not even with a key. Had the car towed to the dealer and it has been fixed, an actuator (?).

Driver side door does not lock at all. Front passenger door locks immediately after pressing unlock. All doors lock and unlock while driving. It started about a year and a half ago and was worse in warm weather. Now, it's just bad all the time. It's a safety issue if I can't lock the car even with the key in the driver's door. My wife and I are the original owners.

The right rear passenger door lock will not always stay locked. The lock will attempt to lock when the vehicle accelerates above 10mph. After coming to a stop or slowing down to below 10mph, all locks in the car will attempt to lock again when the vehicle speed gets above 10mph. The door will not always stay locked after the engine has been turned off and the locks activated. This happens about every other time the vehicle is started and turned off.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. the contact stated while driving and approaching a stop sign the rear drivers side door erroneously unlocked. The contact continued to drive and at approximately 7 mph the door would erroneously lock. Once the speed was increased past 20 mph the door would again unlock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the door actuator was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect and no solution was offered. The contact indicated that previously the defected had occurred on the three additional doors and the actuators were replaced by the dealer. The failure mileage was 29,559. The consumer stated the vehicle was repaired in April by american Honda at no cost to the owner. Updated 06/03/2014

Every time we try drive above 9 mph, the door tries to lock, even if its already lock. In a parking lot it keeps trying to lock if we go below and above 9mph. We have disabled the auto lock and auto unlock features now the door behind the driver won't stay locked. Ever. If you use the remote, master key, or physically try to lock that door, it unlocks itself within a second. Very unsafe. This car is parked outside and is used to Transport two toddlers. The door also won't open now so we can't engage child lock. The door doesn't open from the outside or inside. There are hundreds and thousands of complaints about Honda actuators. Dealers charge 400-700 for one. Our other car, a Honda Pilot had to have all 4 replaced last year, and 1 already stopped working. Check out youtube and other forums. Thank you!

The contact owns a 2008 Honda CRV. The contact stated that the front driver's side door lock malfunctioned, leaving the door unsecured. The contact indicated that when putting the transmission in park, a loud grinding noise was heard caused by the doors attempting to lock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the door lock actuator had malfunctioned. The actuator was replaced to correct the defect. The contact indicated that the defect had also occurred on the front passenger and driver's side rear doors. The manufacturer was notified of the defect but no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Another door lock failure. Key would not unlock door. Passenger door lock sticking and locking by itself. Got locked out of the car when the battery died and the key remote would not work with no power. I had 3 sets of keys in my hand but could not get in my car. Had to replace the key cylinder, cable, and both front latch assemblies at a cost of over $700. How many complaints until Honda accepts responsibility for defective lock assemblies? if Honda is reading this, I will not do future business with a company that does not stand behind their product when there is an obvious defect.

Drivers door lock kept locking and unlocking while driving it or in park. Had to pay $160 to have the door lock actuator replaced in July 2013. Now the rear doors are starting to making a strange sound when locking or unlocking the doors. This is the sound the came before the locks actually started to malfunction on the front door. Why isn't Honda being held responsible for all these actuator problems?

My 2008 Honda CRV in 2010 began having problems with the rear door lock and then the hatch lock. When I put the rear door lock into child safety mode and took it off child safety mode, the door lock would not unlock. It kept locking and I would have to manually press down on the lock button in order to open the door from the outside. I took it to a Honda car dealership service dept. And was told it was the actuator and it happens often to Honda vehicles and it would cost me $380 to repair it even thought the part I was told was actually only $80 dollars. To me and to everyone else this has happened to, this is obviously a manufacturer's defect if it happens often to Honda vehicles. I refused the repair because it was very expensive. Later in a few weeks, my hatch would not unlock unless the defective rear door lock was also unlocked. Now, it is 2014 and as of Friday, 2/28/14, all my locks are now locking immediately after I used my automatic door unlock on my key fob. I can't even get into my car unless I'm quick about it before it locks on me again. Then when I want to get out of my car and the door unlocks, before I can even open the door to get out of my car, all the locks lock up again without my having done anything. This is a safety hazard for me and my family. The door locks are defective and Honda should take responsibility to fix these defects. I urge the NHTSA board to read all the complaints and take action to make Honda set a recall for this defect so that Honda CRV and other Honda vehicle owners are safer on the road.

Doors lock and unlock without prompting. Doors also make awful noise when they lock and unlock whenever they want. The key also does not work to unlock the door any longer. I had to always leave a window down because you could be locked out even with the keys in your hand. I had this fixed back in April 2013 at my own expense since it is not under recall and now it is happening again. Major safety issue: You can be unable to get out of the car in case of an emergency. Also, with the doors locking and unlocking it creates a major safety hazard for children riding in the car.

Front passenger door will not unlock. Problem is related to the door actuator. Car fob or internal door controls will not unlock front passenger door. Concern is that a passenger in front passenger seat will not be able to quickly exit the car if required in an emergency without climbing across to another door. Issue occurs at all speeds or when car is in the park position.
