Takata recall: I purchased a 2009 Honda CR-V in Florida in January for my daughter, just prior to the recall being released. She had to return to school in Texas without the car since it was unsafe for her to drive. The dealership in Florida will not provide a rental car for her in Texas because the Honda is in Florida. I have no means to get the Honda to a Texas dealership as it is unsafe to drive. So we are stuck with an undriveable car, and my daughter has no transportation. We were told the airbag could not be replaced until "summer". is there anything that can be done?

While driving on the highway, rt 24, 7.3 mile marker(?),some one cut us off and my wife was in the center lane and turned to the right. We got hit my another car in the rear or side.we ended up on the side of highway with the driver side on the ground. The passenger curtain air bags inflated along with other passenger side air bags.the only air bag to inflate on drivers side that was on the ground was the one in the steering column. We had to climb out of the passenger door, which was on the top now. The electrical system shorted (we smelled smoke) and we could not open the moon roof. Why didn't the curtain air bags inflate on the drivers side" this side of the car was laying on the ground. The drivers door was against the ground. Is there a problem with the side curtain air bags.my grand children were in the car at the time and seem to be ok.my wife hit her head, with bruises on left side on body and I received a bad cut on my left hand. My left shoulder hurts to. Again, why didn't the drivers side curtain air bag deploy???" police crash report B130201600374A, NJ state ploice,

While driving on the nys thruway southbound on a clear, dry day, we were about to exit onto exit 13N when a speeding sedan cut us off before we could exit and we had to steer the vehicle back onto the thruway. The 2009 Honda CR-V went out-of-control and we weaved over 3 lanes of traffic and hit the cement median, bounced off and hit it again. The vehicle was totaled. In addition, the passenger front safety bags partially deployed and side bags did not deploy at all. My husband and I were ambulanced to the emergency room. I suffered numerous bruising and abrasions to the chest. He suffered massive bruising and 4 broken ribs. There is definitely a steering issue with the 2009 Honda CR-V and should not be rated a safe vehicle. We had previously leased a 2006 and had no issues with that model.
