Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16V346000 (air bags) and 16V061000 (air bags). The dealer scheduled an appointment and, upon the contacts arrival, the dealer stated that the part was not available. So the contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired for months. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact was not experiencing a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall - filing a complaint regarding time frame to fix the air bag issue. I received a letter back in April about this possibly deadly issue, only to be told it won't be rectified until late summer/early fall of 2016. I drive a dangerous, very busy highway in miami, 4 times a day with 2 children in a car that's basically a time bomb. And the fact that a fix to this issue wouldn't be available until months after I was notified is not acceptable. I contacted a local dealership (braman Honda) twice about a free loaner (as I was told this was an option) and no one got back to me. I then asked about having my airbag disengaged so it wouldn't be a threat. I was told they wouldn't do that. So still no help, and I was left with one option, buy a new car. I traded my CR-V in at a different car dealership for a used one. I'm disappointed with Honda, with the airbag manufacturer and the local dealership for not helping. I feel like they are getting away with murder. I am filing this complaint as part of a safety recall letter that was sent to me by Honda, where it states to do this if you are dissatisfied with the amount of time the repairs took in relation to the receipt of the letter. Thank you.

"takata recall" vehicles in high humidity regions are being recalled for passenger side airbag failure. We live in an area of very high humidity which is not in specific region of the recall. We want this passenger side airbag replaced or disabled. Better to be without this airbag, then to have a face full of shrapnel.
