Awful grinding noise at a cold start no matter what the weather is. Car is in mid atlantic region. Each start comes with a grinding noise. Mechanic can't find anything wrong. None of my other cars not make such a horrendous noise at start up. This sound was noticed not long after the car was purchased late 2014.

Excessive oil consumption. No oil leak and not burning oil. Mechanic noted excessive oil use when he saw it was 2 quarts low on oil within 3 months use after a oil change. Mechanic found no cause for this so it must be inside the engine or drive train. Car is used for local flat driving. No towing, racing, mountains, etc.

2013 Honda CRV shakes at speed 30-45 mph during acceleration. Shakes sometimes goes away when foot is removed momentarily and gas is reapplied. Already made attempt to have issue fix at daytona Honda dealership, transmission fluid was flushed and fuel injectors cleaned. Shaking returned after a few weeks.

On the first start of the day, especially cold days, the engine makes a loud grinding/rattling noise. The dealership claims that there isn't a fix for the issue. It claims that it is a design flaw and doesn't hurt the engine. According to them, the oil drains from the part overnight and the "noise" is caused by lack of oil to that part. As soon as the part gets oil it stops. (about 2-3 seconds) according to research I've done on the internet, the issue has been ongoing for several years without a fix and is somewhat common. I bought the car in April and didn't experience the problem until late fall. It took me months to prove to the dealership that there was a problem.shame on Honda. I've owned Honda cars and have been loyal to Honda for 25 years, but no longer.

I've previously reported the vtc actuator problem O this site and american Honda with zero satisfaction. The problem has continued and I get conflicting information from my dealer and american Honda. The original complaint number was 10783068. Upon re-inquiring with american Honda they've informed me that this problem has not been associated with my VIN which again is incorrect based on dealership feedback. Honda has refused to permit me the ability to speak to a customer care superior or to share with me the actual resolution of other known vtc actuator problems. Please investigate and deteremine exactly why Honda is being permitted to ignore this known and widespread problem?

Check engine light and several other warning lights came on dash. Car has 77,806 miles. Dealer said timing chain is stretched. I have had all recommended maintenance performed on the vehicle and am the only owner. Service department said I should get oil changes more often than recommended. This should not be considered a normal 'wear' item at this age/mileage.

I own a Honda CR-V 2013 AWD with 60,000 miles. I'm the second owner. I purchased the car from carmax in 2016 with 27,000 miles. After several months of owning the vehicle one morning I hear this loud grinding noise lasting a few seconds after initial start up of vehicle when stationary. This sound has continued on and off at all different times of the day.

Passenger side has heat, while no heat on driver side of vehicle. The 2013 Honda CRV has less than 24K miles and is already having a plugged/faulty heating core. These problems should not be manifesting till much later in a cars life. The biggest problem is that I live in a cool state during the winter and the windshield is frosting up while driving causing significant visibility loss.

1-takata inflator the passage airbag light comes on and off randomly. This does not make me feel comfortable. There's a recall for Cr-vs up to 2012 for this?? 2-start up noise - at least once a day when I start up my CR-V it does this very loud grinding sound. Note: During winter it was every time I started the car. The noise did not start until after the warranty expired. Took to dealership they stated its the valve that's a part of the head/timing chain system. I've done my research and both these problems are very common with Honda CR-V.

A loud grinding noise lasting a few seconds after initial start up after car has been sitting, I.e., a 'cold start.' My Honda 2013 CRV-ex-L has had this problem from day one, brand new! it's intermittent but happens usually on a cold start. After quite a few visits to dealer they act perplexed and never can duplicate the condition! it actually is the vtc (variable timing control). Honda has had this problem for several years on various models of their vehicles, has never fixed the problem nor contacted affected buyers but has continued to build and sell these vehicles with a known defect with no fix! their engineers are aware of the problem, but of course the same engineers say it causes "no damage to the vehicle!" shame on Honda, it only ruined their reputation! people stare at you and ask "what is that noise?" when you explain, it puts Honda and their vehicles in a poor position I.e., loss of reputation and sales. I did intensive investigation on my own, just 'google the problem, and you will be taken to 'you tube' and many other sites showing the problem. Take to the dealer a video and a copy of the numerous complaints on this and other sites! you must prove the problem exists!! I called Honda America 2 days ago to complain and found out Honda just this year, 2016, finally came out with a 'fix!' it is for the vtc (variable timing control). My car finally is at the dealer being repaired. Honda knew all along of this problem at least from 2012 through 2014 and even earlier models! a recall should be mandated to make the repair!! again shame on Honda, I personally will never buy a Honda automobile again. The frustration, embarrassment, time running back and forth to the dealer, etc. Has worn me out!! remember their is now a bulletin to Honda dealers with a 'fix.' But they must duplicate the problem! be sure to take a video with sound!!

Bought car fall 2015 w/21000 miles. First very cold day (below 0 F), I noticed the heating system as well as defrost barely worked after driving 8 miles on a country road. This repeated itself several more times before I discovered tsb 14-063 where they discovered sand had been inadequately washed from the blocks after the casting process was completed. It then settled in the heater core blocking the system from adequate defrost and heat. My dealer app't was disappointing in that they essentially told me I was lying and nothing was wrong with the system. They claimed the temp probes showed a 1/10 degree between the 2 vents - of course, I never saw the results. My warranty expires in less than a month when it will then be my responsibility to flush it myself or pay them to do it !! it's now spring so I feel that waiting for a recall could possibly put me in jeopardy as visibility during cold weather will be and has been an issue. I have a copy of the tsb and see it's supposedly a 3 12 hr obligation, but the flat rate they show is 1.1 hours which encourages their techs to do haphazard work. Dealer was buerkle Honda, St paul, mn and my app't was in early January 2016.

My Honda CR-V 2013 VIN [xxx] is also stalling when on cruise control and going uphill. When I type my VIN and car model it shows no recall. I am having the same stalling issues as the other cars, why is my VIN not being recalled so it can be fixed. My cell phone [xxx]. I have filed many complaints on the same problem. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
