CR-V

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,500 miles

When I come to a stop intersection, I apply the brakes appropriately to slow and stop, and ease off on the throttle pedal. At this time I can hear/feel the engine reduce speed to not be noticeable. When it is time to proceed, I release the brake and start to apply the pressure to the throttle. No engine response -- add a little more throttle--no response. Add a touch more and I am off to the races. This is a frequent happening, not just a single event. This is a definite creator of a collision, to the car immediately ahead of me, or possibly to a left or right oncoming car which I would normally be able to be out of the way, or get there too soon and run into another vehicle.

You suggest that I report each occasion of the problem, but that is not practical because it is happening at almost every intersection. The local dealer says they have never heard of such a happening, but apparently they have not read the many reports on the internet.

CR-V

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110 miles

Bought the CR-V on 8/30/14. 2014 model.

Thought I was nuts but it has done this at least 20+ times.

Took it to the dealer, told them. Figured with all the new wonder technology, it would be as simple as plugging it into the computer and seeing all the diagnostics on a screen.

Nope, they said they found nothing.

Did it today on a "right turn on red." Lucky there was some distance between me and an on coming car...

This is VERY annoying, dangerous and unacceptable for a new car. Have driven it only 1600 miles.

Will go back to dealer and show them other complaints about same issue I have.

Thanks for all of you posting your message/problem. At least I feel like it's a real problem now.

CR-V EX-L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,908 miles

2014 Honda CRV AWD. SEVERE AND DANGEROUS LACK OF ACCELERATION WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. - When stopped at a light or stop sign, there is a random and complete lack of acceleration. The car starts going forward at like 2 mph, idle speed. So you are now crawling through an intersection and unable to speed up to drive normally. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS.

- Car only has 2000 miles now. The problem has happened at least 4 times. Been to dealer who tries their best to resolve. They first adjusted the Brake Relay Switch. Next time, dealer contacted Honda Techline for assistance. Then they replaced Brake Relay Switch. Problem continued to occur at Random. They adjusted Brake Relay Switch on 3rd visit. (Being told Brake Relay is not feeding info to car computer accurately. Car thinks brakes are on and computer is not letting engine accept acceleration.)

Other problem maybe related. Sometimes park and exit car. Brake lights remain on.

I saw three other complaints on this site for new 2014 CRV's for this acceleration issue. If you have any information, please email me and the following email: hondacrvaccelerationproblem@gmail.com

Thank you!

CR-V EX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles

At a stop sign, or traveling around a corner at less than 10 MPH, stepping on the gas, mild to mid pressure, car fails to respond at all for a second or two. The car has less than 2K miles and the problem is very intermittent having occurred about 10 times. I'm preparing to take it into the dealer.

Suspects: Maybe it has something to do with my consistency running in ECO (economy mode)? Or, perhaps there is a computer module failure?

CR-V EX-L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

Description of reoccurring problem that happens randomly:

Driving and had to brake to slow for traffic. When took foot off brake and gave it gas, there was no power, even flooring it, the RPM stayed low between 1000 and 2000 RPM and max speed of about 17mph. Repeatedly pumped gas pedal to accelerate and nothing happened. Took foot of gas and car came to a quick stop. It seems the brakes were still engaged.

Stepped on gas and could only roll forward at a very slow speed. Low RPM. Finally got to the corner and was at a stop sign. Sat at stop sign waiting to go as cross traffic did not have a stop sign. When traffic cleared, car accelerated normally. The brakes were no longer engaged.

Going back to dealer for 4th visit. Honda has replaced Brake Relay Switch previously. They tell me that switch is telling the computer that the brake pedal is still being pressed when it really isn't. So brakes are still engaged and the computer will not let the car accept the acceleration when stepping on gas.

If any of the others having this acceleration problem got it resolved. Please let me know.
