CR-V

  • 23,000 miles
The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that the engine would not start after several attempts. The vehicle's battery was jumped and the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic. No defects were detected. After experiencing the same failure multiple times, the vehicle's alternator and battery were replaced by the independent mechanic. The contact's wife was driving 60 mph, the battery indicator and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle then shut off, which caused her to lose complete control of the vehicle. The contact's wife was able to slowly steer the vehicle to the side of the road where it completely died. The vehicle would not restart and was towed to the same independent mechanic where the battery and alternator replaced. The vehicle was diagnosed again, but no failure was found. The vehicle continued not to start after multiple attempts. The contact was able to attach a component to the vehicle, provided by the mechanic, that would prevent the vehicle from failing. The contact was able to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic from where the vehicle was purchased. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

I bought a Honda CRV 2016 and has 35,0000 miles on it. However, there is a sudden shake as soon as you put the vehicle to drive. In other words, the RPM drops on drive but increases in park. The car is fairly new and it should not do this. Also, my car has never been in an accident. This becomes a cause of concern everyime I am at a traffic light, even my seat and my side mirrors tends to shake also, 2015 CRV were recalled because of this issue.

No towing, racing, mountains, etc. Contacted Honda, they say according to Honda policy only Honda vehicles that consumpt 1 qtr oil per 1000 mile are consider abnormal. Noxious fuel/ oil fumes in cabin causing headaches and lightheadedness. Also heater will not blow hot air. Honda refuses to acknowledge problem. Instead blaming it on short range driving and cold weather environment. Honda America insists that fuel in gas is normal despite evidence to the contrary. According to Honda, this (our CRV) was the first time they had a complaint. Please please please investigate and issue a recall. We have resorted to driving our 2003 model vehicle and parking this newer CRV which only has 12000 miles but has been to dealer for these concerns 4 different times for fumes and 2 times for heater.

It has been an issue since we bought new in December 2016 and the Honda dealer said they would look into it and nothing has been done to fix the problem. We have young kids and are concerned for there health and safety. From reading on-line this issue seams to be a common problem with the CRV. Can you guys and gals help? thanks

My Honda CRV several times randomly after right turn, resists / hesitates to accelerate. Pretty much looses complete acceleration even if I press accelerator. But it picks up after few seconds. Couple of times I had been in close situation as after I make right turn since it doesn't pickup speed, the traffic came close to my vehicle. I took to Honda dealer 2 times so far and they said since this cannot be reproduced at will, they cannot do any thing. But this is a very dangerous issue.
