I bought a new 2017 Honda CRV in may, 2017. Immediately I noticed I wasn't getting good mileage and started checking it the old fashioned way. I'm only getting between 16-18 mpg (I have all receipts) and the dash says I'm getting 23 (which I'm not). The dealer nor national Honda will do anything about it. They say they don't find a problem. Also my brakes make noises and I was told the calipers just off and it doesn't pose a safety hazard. I would never be able to sell it with that kind of noise. No one will do anything about it. I tried to go on the BBB web-site but it says the Honda has to be 2012 or older. Why? I feel stuck and will have to go to the media if I can't get this resolved. The dealer should by my car back under the lemon law. Someone help me.

I checked the level of the oil on the dipstick and the level shows as being high, past the 'full" reference point with a few millimeters. Also, the oil has a strong gas odor. The mileage on the engine is 8454, and the first oil change was performed at 6547 miles, 2 months ago.

Gas is mixing in the oil of our new 2017 Honda CR-V. the 1.5 liter engine does not warm up sufficiently in cold weather, runs rich, and leaves un-combusted gas in the oil. This triggers engine warning lights and requires frequent oil changes. Engine performance and drivability suffer. This problem is also being reported on social media by other Honda CR-V owners who drive in colder climates. We are concerned that it is causing long term damage to the engine of our new vehicle. I caution prospective buyers to postpone the purchase of a 2017 or newer Honda CR-V with the 1.5 liter engine until Honda solves to this problem. The fifth generation CR-V is an excellent car in many respects, but this is a major problem. I cannot recommend the car, particularly to those who drive in colder climates, until a fix is found. Reuters reported in February that Honda has announced a recall of 350,000 CR-V's in china for what appears to be a similar issue. We've driven our car for about six months, and it has less than 2,000 miles on it. We typically use the car for short drives within the city. Our car was at the dealer for over two weeks when the problem first occurred. A field rep from Honda was sent out to the dealer to try to assist. Sensors and fuel injectors were replaced. The oil and filter was changed. At this time our engine had less than 1100 miles on it. These repairs did not correct the problem. In mid-January the engine warning lights were triggered again. Our dealer noted the smell of gas in our oil and once again changed the oil and filter. We had less than 1500 miles on the car for this service. Honda does not appear to have a solution to this problem. The oil and filter changes are a bandaid, and long term damage may be occurring to our engine. Honda may have a major problem on its hands with the 1.5 liter engine.

Noticed gas fumes inside the vehicle soon after purchase in October 2017. At first noticed it after I fueled vehicle. Thought maybe I had stepped in puddle of gasoline at the pumps. After a month realized the gas fumes got worse if I was idling my vehicle, especially, if I was parked for a half hour with car running(winter in central New York) while I ate my lunch. I can smell it outside around my vehicle when I pull my car into my garage at home. Today I brought my vehicle to a Honda dealership for an oil change. I asked them to look at my vehicle for a fuel leak since the fumes are so strong. I even asked them to idle the car and check it. They couldn't find anything in the half hour. They have asked me to bring it back and leave it for awhile next time. I have owned 3 Honda vehicles before this and never experienced this problem before.

Purchased 2017 Honda CRV exl with AWD in October 2017. Immediately after purchase, there was a loud knocking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Vehicle was taken to lia Honda in williamsville, NY where I was told "that's just the sound of the fuel pump, turn your radio up." The sound progressively got louder so the vehicle was taken back to lia Honda in December 2017. Tech that heard the noise said "it sounded like the vehicle was in a crash, the sound was that bad." Vehicle scheduled for repair in Jan 2018. Repair was made to vehicle in Jan 2018 which included added insulation around gas tank and tightening of the gas tank straps. Noise went away for approximately 1-2 weeks. Noise is now back louder than ever as of Feb 2018. Car was taken back to lia Honda again and we were told "Honda told them not to touch the car" and that they "would not make any repairs to the vehicle." I am concerned there is something wrong with the safety system and it is not being taken seriously by Honda or my dealership. I do not feel safe driving the car knowing the gas tank or fuel pump is knocking abnormally. The knocking noise happens all the time but is louder when there is a full tank of gas. The knocking can be heard best from the rear of the vehicle near the gas tank.

I brought car to Honda dealer (car is less than 6 months old) and dealer stated "they didn't smell or see anything" and they did not take issue seriously and did not run any tests. Everytime my 15 pound dog rides in this auto she begins to throwup after 15 or 20 minutes. This happens in no other car. I took to Honda I quiring about a CO2 issue. There was recall for just such a leak calling for the replacement of the entire fule line. I never recieved any notie regarding this recall. Due to the dangerous nature of this issue I would like to I sure others are notified. If my 15 lb og was throwing up I would have to assume infants and child are lso becoming ill.

For a second time we have taken the vehicle to the service department after having problems with it not having power to go past 2 rpms and pulling as if it has a problem with the fuel line. After having vehicle towed the first instanceon10/17/2017 they checked it and could find no evidence of anything gone wrong, the car was only 2 weeks old. This second incident comes 1 month later and now the brake system light came on and even though the gear shifter was in the correct position there were two letters on top of one another and blinking. Frequent noxious gas fumes in the cabin of the vehicle. Often when the vehicle is sitting idle, or starting, there is a strong smell of gas in the cabin. This issue began a couple weeks after purchasing the vehicle (February 3) and has happened most recently on May 28. The incident on May 28 was so toxic that I developed a headache and had to open all windows to try to relieve the issue.

Test drove the car and didn't smell due to using A/C. on day of purchase, I changed the air to recirculate in cabin. That is when the inside of vehicle started smelling like gas with recirculating air on. In the first few minutes I did not notice the smell and assumed it was the "brand new" car smell but later after getting on the highway, the smell became very noticeable and caused me to feel dizzy and almost vomit. I pulled over and inspected the car to see where the smell was coming from and noticed the smell was mainly in the second row passenger area, where my 3 month old child and wife were sitting! I opened all the doors and for some reason changed air vent from recirculating to fresh air mode. Was late at night and called salesman but he could not help me with anything other than telling me to bring it in the next morning. I had work in the morning so I decided to just bear with it and open the windows if the smell became too unbearable. After driving for about 5-10 minutes, the smell started to slowly fade away. I have yet to drive the vehicle again and will see if the gas smell comes back with the recirculating mode on. Also, the smell was not noticeable with engine off, since the air vents were also off.
