My 2018 Honda CRV touring with 1.5L turbo engine had had a problem with the smell of fuel fumes in the interior cabin since the time of purchase. When you turn the air on with the air coming from the outside vent, especially when first starting the car, the smell of gasoline fumes is apparent, which is also a serious health safety concern as inhalation of fumes is definitely bad for your health. Every time I check my oil level, the dipstick shows the oil is overfilled beyond what the dipstick measures and the oil smells heavily of gas. After researching this online, I found that there is a problem that many 5th generation CRV owners are experiencing with the 1.5L turbo engine with too much gas getting into the oil and the smell of fumes in the cabin. This is what is causing my oil level to rise to unsafe levels that will accelerate the deterioration of expensive internal engine components. I contacted Honda and they performed a technical service bulliten related to this issue on December 4th 2018, where a module related to the air conditioning was replaced along with the engine oil and some software upgrade was installed. This changed absolutely nothing. I still am experiencing the sickening smell of gasoline fumes in the cabin as well as the dipstick showing more oil than it can measure along with the smell of gas coming from the oil.

After receiving Honda tsb 18-124 from Honda, which supposedly fixed the oil dilution issue issue, my CR-V problems have gotten worse! now, not only does the vehicle get a terrible smell of gasoline inside the cabin, (especially on initial start-up and while idling), but the vehicle has developed new problems. Included among these are: - worse oil dilution (gas in the engine oil). It rose by 1 quart in 2 weeks since getting the update (about 500 miles of driving) - a strong smell of gasoline in the oil and even around the exterior of the vehicle - worse gas mileage. A decline by several mpgs - colder cabin -- takes much longer to generate heat this is just wrong on a new vehicle and needs a proactive recall and further investigation asap. Please do not believe Honda ' users are still experiencing these issues after their update.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. while operating the vehicle, a fuel odor entered the vehicle. In addition, while checking the oil level, the odor of fuel was also present. The vehicle was taken to coconut point Honda (22240 S. tamiami trl, estero, fl) and a product update was performed and the air conditioning control unit was replaced. The contact indicated that the oil continued to smell of fuel and the oil level was very high. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was unknown.

There is gasoline leaking into my oil. There is over 1 quart of oil in my 4 quart oil pan. The oil level on the dip stick is 1/2" higher than the maximum level on the dipstick and the oil reeks of gasoline. Honda has tried, but failed to fix this. I can smell the gas in the cabin and when it is parked in the garage. I contacted a major oil company if the ratio of gas to oil would cause a problem and he said it was "alarming" I am concerned about the odor of gas, specifically the benzene which is present in gasoline. I am concerned about a possible fire too. We have had the dealer change the oil two times now even though the vehicle is almost brand new and was not supposed to have it's first oil change until 10K miles on it.

Sone how gas is getting the oil. I left vehicle run at idle for 15 minutes in driveway temp gauge does not move. If I drive vehicle the temp gauge goes up but stop for a few minutes and temp gauge starts dropping again. Very strong oder of gasoline in side vehicle when stopped at red light or parked for a few minutes. You have to put windows down it smells so bad. Honda is aware of all these issues and does not want to own up to any of them! my vehicle is suppose to get fixed Friday morning. 1-11-19 but according to the internet the fix Honda is doing does absolutely nothing. Do people have to die before Honda is forced to do something? it is all Honda CRV vehicles and some other models from 2017 and 2018.

Bought a new 2018 CR-V ex turbo in September. They never told me they had issues with gas mixing with the oil. The maintenance for oil changes is 10,000 miles. I changed oil myself at 6,000 miles and again at 16,000 by the dealer the second week in December. At that time the dealer said there was a recall for A/C computer. They still didn't explain what it will repair. Then I received a letter about the same A/C computer. So, I just happened to look online January 6th for recalls and found that a lot of CR-V's have gas mixing with the oil. Since I just had my oil changed by the dealer I thought I should check to see if mine has mixed. My oil was 1/2' past full. I called the dealer they informed me that the part will be in January 10th. So I made an appointment for that day. Unfortunately, what damage has already been done? I feel I was set up when purchasing this vehicle. They tell me the A/C recall will fix this problem. I'll sure be keeping an eye on my oil after the repair.

At approximately 5000 miles I changed the oil in our 2018 CR-V (for the first time) and realized there was approximately 1.5 quarts too much oil (it wasn't all oil, gasoline had diluted the oil). We have an appointment today at the Honda dealer in grand island, ne to have them 'install updated injector software and something concerning the A/C regulator (they said).

I bought a 2018 Honda CR-V (1.5L turbo engine) in August. It only has 1700 miles, but so far it has stalled on me 3 times (while driving). The first 2 times, I was under 25 mph and it started stalling. Several lights were flashing on the dashboard cautioning engine failure, brake failure, tire pressure failure, etc. The car was making pinging noises while these lights were flashing and it wouldn't drive any longer. I had no choice but to pull over to the side of the road and wait for a tow truck to take me to the dealership. The 3rd time this happened, I was going almost 40mph and it stalled again (same as before). The car was also shaking and stuttering while simply sitting idle. Honda said that the crank shaft sensor (cpk) was defective and replaced it...however, that did not fix the problem. When I asked Honda if this stalling issue was related to articles describing the ongoing problems with this make/model (in recent years), they refused to acknowledge it and said they couldn't comment because it wasn't a "Honda article". I'm sure I'm not the only customer that has come to the dealership with this problem...yet, they refuse to address that it's a serious problem. They also have not declared a recall. This is a serious life-threatening safety hazard. When the car stalled, I wasn't on the expressway, but on local roads; however, I don't feel safe driving this car anymore. I have no idea when it's going to stall again. Honda has given no assurances that they know what the problem is or can even fix it.

Gasoline is getting into the oil. Symptoms are a gas smell in the cabin and the level on the dipstick is above the top fill level. This condition can cause the vehicle to stop running causing a dangerous condition. Honda is repairing cars in cold weather states only. A tsb was issued in October 22, 2018. Why aren't they repairing all of the vehicles with this problem? I had the oil changed on my car and the oil level was 1/2 over the fill mark.

Our 2018 Honda CRV touring has the oil dilution problem. Our oil level increased about 3/4 inch on the oil stick from may, 2018 to December, 2018 and it smells like gas. We have also smelled gas inside our car. Honda is fixing some cars, but we live in Arkansas and our state is not on the list to be repaired. We could have an engine fire so feel it is not safe to drive. Also, the engine will wear out a lot faster with the dilution....even though the Honda dealer said it won't!!

Engine oil was diluted with gasoline, causing possible motor damage. Dealer redid a fuel mapping, and made it so teh fan cannot blow until the car is fully warmed. This wont correct the issue. These direct injected motors let gasoline past the rings when cold, and if the car is cold frequently, the gasoline will not vaporize form the oil. If left unchecked, the increased volume of liquid can cause the car to lsoe power and shut off at any time, causing a safety risk. I live in Texas, so it doesn't get exceptionally cold, but this happened on a brand new car with less than 2500 miles on it at the time. Internet searches show thousands of people having the same issue. A recall should be forced to correct these issues, and keep people safe.
