Mar 312008

Civic LX D17

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,000 miles

I bought the car from a small dealer in Charlotte nc on march 28,2008. i thought the car was nice and reliable for me and my wife, but since the day of march 31, 2008 we were on the way from Walmart going home the car started shaking and it wont accelerate so i barely put my foot on the gas pedal so we could get home.we got home and the car stop accelerate, i try to back it up it wont go so i left the car park in my drive way. i was really mad because i just bought the car three day the car broke down, plus i didn't make the first payment yet.all i got to say 2001 up Honda civic is piece of sh*t because i 'm a big fan of Acura and Honda, i thought that Honda was reliable.i 'm just really mad that i just bought the car three days ago and broke down on me. I just got to say that they need to make a better and stronger transmission for the 2001 up civic.........this is the last time that i will buy 2001 up civic..... i call the junk yard for the transmission they were asking for $880 for the transmission,it had 45,000 miles on it and if i do get it i'm just gonna put the transmission myself........................................ this is my complain.

Civic LX 1.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 111,012 miles

I had a transmission leak at 80 000 miles and then at 111000 the transmission wasn't shifting gears.....

so there goes another 1200 dls to take it apart.......

wish I knew this problem with the civics, even the guy at the shop mentioned that he had another 3 cars with the same problem..............

Honda should have had a recall or something for this common problem

Civic DX

  • 32,000 miles

Here in Canada it gets pretty cold in the winter, but at -1c to -10c the car starts but wont engage drive until it warms up. I have to wait 20mins at least before i can leave the yard. Honda installed a new transmission.......... but hey, lets give these suckers a new one in the spring when its warmer........... then the warranty may expire. Ha Ha. Problem NOT fixed
