Sun visors on my Honda Civic keep breaking, interfering with vision while driving. This is not the first time I will have to get it replaced, it is a continual problem.

1) since I've owned my car, I have had to replace a faulty visor..and each time it gets hot outside, my visor acts up and ends up breaking and hanging in front of my face while I drive. 2) every summer it won't work properly and eventually it breaks requiring it to be replaced. 3) you have no choice but to replace it each time this happens. And it's unpredictable as to when it's going to break. There is no fix to prevent it from happening. They need to come up with a redesign that is not faulty. Honda does have the part, but now that my warranty is up, I have to pay for it each time it breaks. That just doesn't seem fair.

In addition, the visors were also split in half exposing the metal clamps on both ends of the visors making it impossible for the visors to remain in a stationary position. The manufacturer was contacted and the contact was awaiting a decision on if he would be liable for the repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000 and the current mileage was approximately 75,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The dealer advised they were aware of the failure however the repair would be at the contacts liability. This was the second occurrence of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Both sunvisors exploded or broke. I was advised this is a common problem on the vehicle. Honda has refused to replace at this time.

Thousands of late model Honda Civic owners, including my wife's Honda have been having chronic sun visor breakage problems. When it breaks unexpectedly, it blocks the driver's view creating a very unsafe condition. Honda refuses to acknowledge this issue and instead still sells the faulty part as replacement. I have a 2006 Honda Civic and have had a problem with the sun visors splitting and falling into a down position without being able to put into an up position again. This results in an impeded view of my driving field. When I try to move it to the side window and make a turn the visor hits me in the head causing another issue while driving. Within the first year I had to have the driver's side replaced (not sure about the passenger side), but it was under warranty. A year and a half ago I needed to have the driver's side replaced but it wasn't under warranty and I did not have the $65 to pay for it. Now I need the passenger side replaced and the driver's side is so loose I have to push it up for every stop light so I can see it. It's extremely dangerous how it flops down and blocks your field of view. I made a complaint with Honda but they said they can't do anything until there is a recall on the part.

While driving on the interstate the driver side sun visor broke off and hit my arm. It scared me and I swerved off of the road nearly causing an accident. After researching the internet trying to find a replacement, I discovered that there have been hundreds of people affected by this manufacturing problem in the 2006 Honda Civics. Honda is aware of the situation and is refusing to take responsibility for the repair unless still covered under the warranty. They have advised me that they will split the cost of part and labor but will not consider anything this else. This could have caused my or my children or others on the road at the time our life. I hope that others have not had to experience something more than I have. This should be a recall and they should take full responsibility for the error in manufacturing. I was unable to repair immediately due to a crisis in my family. Please check the internet for the many complaints and problems that people have been having. People have repaired their sun visors multiple times and continue to have them break. This could become vary hazardous and should be corrected.

The sun visor for my vehicle has had to be replaced several times which causes me many times to drive without a sun visor. Many Honda Civic owners have complained about this problem as it is a safety issue driving in the sun without a working sun visor.

I have a 2006 Honda Civic coupe. At 12,000 miles both sun visors split apart within two weeks of each other. I contacted the Honda dealership I purchased it from and they scheduled me for replacements at no charge. By 16,000 miles, both sun visors broke again and the Honda dealership replaced them! luckily, winter came and they lasted until the next summer. At round 29,000 miles they broke again and were replaced once again, under warranty. At 36,500 miles (500 miles after the warranty ran out and longer than the 6 months part warranty) they broke again! now the Honda dealership will not replace them without charging me between $200 and $320, depending on which dealership I called. Talk about a rip off and a piece of crap! I thought Honda made quality"?" I called the number listed in the back of the car owner's manual to complain and the attendant agreed that there had been numerous complaints but that there is no recall and I would have to pay! whatever! why would I pay that much for something that is going to break again because of a faulty (crappy) design and/or manufacturing" C'mon Honda...get with the program. The visors hang down, impairing my visibility which could easily lead to a wreck! that was 2 years ago. I just took them down and now have no sun visors. Why has this problem not been addressed" shame on Honda. With all the problems with Toyota looks like Honda would get on the ball and do something already!

Both driver and passenger side sun visors have broken on my 2006 Honda Civic. The driver side visor broke once before in 2008 and I had it fixed. It broke again in 2009 and in May 2010 the passenger side sun visor broke. It makes it difficult to get a clear view of the highway when driving and when it becomes necessary to move it to the side it creates a dangerous situation while driving.
