Here we go again. Honda could have prevented this by replacing both when the first one broke. (They knew they were bad.) But the didn't want to be helpful. (What a load of BS that propaganda campaign is...)

I pulled the visor down to put in the shades to cover the windows in the heat. When I did it broke. I think Honda should replace the cheap visor and it pisses me off that just putting the visor down and it breaks. I have only owned Honda Civics and this is the worst Civic I have bought.

My visor broke when my car was still under warranty and Honda replaced it.
Since then, it broke again as well as the other visor. I called Honda to see when I could take it in to have them both replaced and was told there is no recall on the visors and it would cost me $125/visor to have them replaced.
I searched online and found a gentleman adding 2 aluminum brads to the visors, fixing them. I did the same and am hopeful they don't break again.

My passenger sun visor will not stow,currently hangs down making it difficult at times to see to the extreme right of windshield. Driver's side visor replaced several months ago.
Local honda dealer explained that my car is not covered under this campaign. Not sure why my 2009 car is not covered, as it appears to be the same sun visor installed on honda civics purchased 4 months prior to my car and the same defect.

Noticed about a week ago when I went to use my sun visor it was coming apart at the seams and would not go back up. It just kept falling down. I had to use some force and bending to get it back together. I checked and Honda did have a settlement for this, but my VIN was just outside the range. I notified my local dealership, but I doubt they reported it. The parts department gave me a quote of $75.29 + $20 to install. I politely told them thanks for their time, and I went looking for prices elsewhere (BernardiParts.com had the same OEM item for $39), so I will see if my local dealer will match prices. I need to call them back as well to see if any warranty still exists. They did tell me I was the 3rd person to call them in the last month about the same problem (all cars were outside the original settlement).

Why did Honda issue the recall for cars and VIN numbers up until 2011? I have a 2009 Civic and have replaced the driver sun visor, now will need to replace the passenger one. Honda needs to extend the recall for ALL civics!!

My 2009 honda civic has both sun visors split at the hinge, a common problem . There is a class action lawsuit that honda lost. They extended the warranty to 7yrs /100,000 miles on the 2009 models within a certain vin number. I have the 2009 model but it falls outside of the vin numbers. My local honda dealer where I bought the car new would not honor the warranty because of the vin number. Very short sighted dealer, my next new car won't be from them.

It's annoying and the broken visor is not covered under warranty. I don't want to spend $100 fixing a silly problem that never should have occurred in the first place.

The visor popped and started falling down on a hot day. The car is not even 4 years old. Apart from this, it developed many other problems also. Do not recommend this car at all.

i can't believe this is happening! b/c i have a 2009, John Eagle Honda says they wont replace it. even thou there has been problems with the 2008, 2007, and 2006....DOESNT LOOK LIKE THE FREAKING PROBLEM IS FIXED BOYS! so my visor has to be hanging down in front or on the side....there's no happy middle.....what the hell!

This is the first visor that broke. They replaced it, but would not replace the other one that had not broken yet.
