Bought car with 63835 miles and at 65000 miles car needed brake pads and the rotor replace cause of bad wear, they were replace and now at 73000 miles I need brake pads again, brakes on these car is the worst ever.

Brakes making screeching noise, rotors had to be resurfaced at 34,000 highway miles and now 20,000 miles later brakes are not braking properly, screeching and caliper leaking and brake sensor has broken off. I've been a Honda owner all my life and never had this problem. Dont expect any customer service help from corporate I was brushed off.

I bought this car used from a dealership. About 2 weeks later, I noticed what sounded like two metal discs rubbing against each other. I took the car back to the dealership and told them what I was hearing. They looked into it and found out that the rotors needed to be machined and the brake pads replaced. I was pretty shocked that at 22,000 miles, this would need to be done. Luckily since I had bought the car less than a month ago, the dealership paid the cost of the job which was around $200. This has me concerned for future use of my car, especially when it comes to highway driving.

At 15000 miles my cars front brake pads and rotars are worn out, I had brought my car to Honda for my 15000 mile service, where they are supposed to inspect brakes, yet no mention of brake issues were brought up. Two weeks later my brakes were bad. I have been reading that many people have the same defect in there Honda Civics. I am hopeful that Honda does a recall, to protect there name, because I was originally very happy to have a Honda, now I am truly disappointed.

Needed new brake pads at 18,645 miles during three year lease. Warranty does not cover brake pads like other car makers. Brake pads should not wear out so quick. I do not have 245 dollars for every 18 thousand miles or less to change the brakes every 2 years. I have owned a Chevy and Ford, bought brand new and needed new brake pads at 40K miles plus.

This will be the third time in 2 1/2 years that I have had to replace the brakes. Each time it has been an out of pocket expense and Honda has accepted no responsibility.

With only 25,000 miles my brake pads need to be replaced. Diagnosis came from loud screeching and whistling noise from front drivers-side tires. Had no consistency with speed or braking - sometimes it whistled while going fast, sometimes while slow, sometimes while turning, sometimes while braking. I take public transportation to work and use this car very infrequently. I am disgusted by having to change brake pads at 25,000 miles - the majority of which is distance driving to family out of town.

I drove my car onto a major highway, speed limit 70 mph. Entering the highway my car accelerated from 70-79 by itself with my ABS kicking in at the same time. Not allowing me to brake. Nearly causing a pile up, I exited immediately turning into a shopping center to park my car. With two passengers in the car with me, I proceeded into the lot, up a hill when I could feel my car accelerating by itself. With my passengers in disbelief, I lifted my right foot in the air so they could see, my car accelerated from 0-21 mph by itself, up a hill. Scared out of my mind, I pulled my car over and parked it. I contacted Honda, took my car in for service only to find out that they "have never heard of this issue before" and that this was their first time looking into such a possibility. A couple days later after they blamed this issue on my "third party floor mats" and advised me to take them out of my car, I did. I drove without the floor mat for two weeks, to make sure that it was my car acting up and not the mats. Sure enough, my car acted up 2 more times in those two weeks. The first time it happened in traffic, in the middle of a bunch of stop lights. I would brake a little too early & attempt to coast in traffic to the car in front of me, I'd take my foot off the brake and the car would fully accelerate all by itself, causing me to slam my brakes. Second occurrence, was when I was getting into my car, turned it on, but never put it into gear or even shut my door, the engine started revving with rpms up in the "reds". multiple times. After taking my car in a second time, they were once again blaming these problems on my floor mats and that they weren't going to service or take care of anything at all, I am writing this complaint to further enforce that the 2010 Honda Civic needs to be recalled. The computers are defective and Honda is doing absolutely nothing about it.

Squealing noise comes and goes. Months later it returned and lasted for longer intervals. Took it to the dealer and was told the brakes needed replacing. The car is only 2 years old and less than 20,000 miles. All driving is done locally. Have been a long-time owner of Honda and have never had this problem. It is not a "usual" issue. This is clearly a poorly made vehicle.

There was a lot of noise from the front end. I took to the dealer (mary sussman Honda, abington, pa) and they told me I needed a front end brake job (pads, rotor polishing etc). Two days ago (9/27/12) I had to take to have my rear bearing replaced and they told me I needed front brakes again. Now mileage is 44,500, so only ~18,000 miles from last repair. I think two brake jobs at 40K miles is not right.

On our new Honda Civic, our front brakes went out at 15,900 miles. Of course, the service reps tried to blame the "hard driving" which was their assumption. They did replace them, but now at 29,000 miles, the front brakes are out again. Clearly, Honda is using either poor quality pads or the braking system is defective. We are taking it in again, but don't have a lot of confidence that they'll do the right thing and fix this.

I own a 2010 Honda Civic LX model. My car was serviced at 18,800 miles. I was told by the Honda service department that my brakes had to be changed. I bought the car with 6,400 miles on it. I was shocked at the fact that the brakes needed to be changed at about 12,000 miles into driving the car. Brakes are meant to last about 30,000 miles before being needed to be replaced. Honda does not let the owners of these cars know that they have faulty brakes that they wear out quicker. Nor are they willing to cover the costs of early brake changes.

My 2010 Honda Civic dx with just over 36,000 miles on it has been going through brake pads every 10-15,000 miles. This is entirely too frequent, and the braking system is grinding and having issues now as well. This should not be happening on a vehicle that is this new, and the brakes should be lasting much longer. Even a heavy breaker does not go through brake pads this frequently. There should be a recall by Honda to see that the components that make up the braking system satisfactorily reflect the quality of craftsmanship and build that Honda represents to its customers. The dot should pressure Honda to take ownership and legal responsibility of these issues in light of their prevalence and the many complaints that have been filed by consumers already.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Civic. The contact stated that an abnormal grinding noise was heard from the brakes emitted while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and all of the brakes were replaced. The failure recurred a few months later. The vehicle was again taken to an independent mechanic where the brakes were replaced a second time. The manufacturer offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 7,600. I was driving my car like every day. But every time I press the brake I heard the sound (metallic). I went to the Honda service center. After inspection they told me that the rotor was deteriorated and the front pad is damaged. I have to do the servicing and its a maintenance issue. So Honda will not pay anything! I paid $289.26 from my pocket to do the rotor resurfacing and replace two front brake pad of my new Honda Civic. Would you believe it" I have the receipt with me. After servicing I found the same problem again. I came back to the service center. This time the service adviser did the B*** S*** with me. I told him to drive my car. After driving my car he understood the problem was not solved. So he took my car to the service center again and after 10 minutes he came back to me. He told me that one of the screw was broken, they replaced it. I was shocked!!! I told them that they misguided me and it cost me around 300 bucks. But the service adviser refused to agree the truth...this is crazy. Why do they replace my new Civic brake front pad and also do the resurfacing of the rotor??...is this called service...I want my money back...first question is why do I have to do the resurfacing of rotor for only 18K mileage car?" and second question is..if it was done by mistake..then why they took my money!!this is all crazy.
