Civic LX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,000 miles

So, back in December of 2011 I my wife got a new civic. She is a small woman so it works well for her. I did not see any issue with getting the civic because I myself have a 2006 that has been pretty good to drive. we just swapped cars to see if i could get better MPGs in the newer civic and within the first day of driving it on my commute ( which is an hour long) I had severe leg/butt/back pain. I adjusted the seat as much as possible but it seems that the bucket seats are compressing my legs. I have tried everything to fight this but just keep ending up with leg pain. This may be the most uncomfortable car to drive any distance in. I have driven it from time to time into town which is 5 minutes here and there, but my god... I want to drive off the road when in it for more then 30 minutes. Anyone else have any problems with this new model civic?

Civic

Bought my 2012 civic sedan on Feb 9th 2012. Drove it for 2 days and my lower back started to hurt like crazy. The pain was so sharp I had a hard time getting off of the couch at the house. I called the dealership and they said they hadn't had any other complaints. I googled it and found a forum that had many complaints about the seats on the 2012 civic. Apparently there is an issue and I am not losing my mind. Called the dealer back again and he said to buy a lumbar support from Walgreens. Wow great fix!!! Honda has a defective seat design and the dealers wants your to try and live with it! Received a thank you from the Dealer General Manager thanking me for buying the car and to call if I had any concerns. Called the General Manager and left a message for him. He called me back and said they might be about to trade for it or I could call Honda and complain. Wow!!! He stands by there product! Honda SUCKS!! 28-32 MPG in town isn't worth CRAP if you can't drive the car because the seat is so uncomfortable that it causing excruciating lower back pain. The dealer is suppose to call me on the FEB 27th. Will see what they say!! HONDA SUCK!!! I'll NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE!!

Update from Oct 19, 2011: went back to dealer basically said it was me and my wife have had seat replace had power lumbar added still is horrable guess we need to get class action to get this fixed since Honda knows this is a problem but is just ignoring it
