I have a 2013 Honda Civic. I bought is a certified pre-owned from broadway Honda, greenville, SC. It went well for a year thought the one year warranty with zero problems. But once the warranty was over problems started to show up every other month. During the harsh winter of March one day the battery went dead at a walmart parking. I called my friend and jump started it and it was fine. Next day I went to the Honda service and did a diagnostic. They said the battery is only 30%. in 4 years with 53K miles the battery went bad and I replaced it. And did a oil change and nys inspection. 15 days went well. Suddenly one day my air bag indicator started to blink with a message "check air bag system" on the screen. I took it to a friend's garage and he suspected it was a passenger side seat sensor that has an error. Very troubled I went to Honda service again. They charged $130 just for scanning and diagnostics. They came back said the passenger seat airbag sensor went bad. I asked them how can something like a sensor go bad. Believe me I only use my car to go to office and errands. My wife sits at the back with my baby(infant). Very rarely the seat is used. I asked them how much would it cost and they said it will cost another $880 dollars to replace the sensor. I also want Honda to know the problem as one can't pay so much to replace one sensor.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Civic. The contact stated that a warning indicator randomly kept flashing to check the air bag system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer at least three times, but they were unable to provide a solution. The contact felt as if they misdiagnosed providing a solution and required that brake repairs be completed before servicing the air bag system. The first repair from the dealer indicated that the ABS indicator was illuminated, but the contact stated that it was the air bag warning indicator. The dealer cleaned the rear brakes and adjusted the rear brakes during the first repair. During the second repair, the dealer replaced and resurfaced the front brake pads. The brake fluid exchange was serviced as well. Two days after the repairs, the service air bags indicator illuminated again. The dealer was notified of the failure a third time and indicated that they would follow up, but the contact received no response. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was not available.

Check airbag system warning light coming on and off intermittently, whether the vehicle is moving or not. Dealership tech unable to positively identify exact problem or component unless alarm stays on all the time. They could only provide best educated guess. They suspect cable reel is bad. Apparently, when the light is on, air bags apparently will not work. Unacceptable. Have previously owned 3 other Civic 's, never had a single problem with the air bag system. Honda should have a better way to troubleshoot the system to definitively identify the specific defective component in the system. Warning light came on constantly yesterday after approx. A month, but residence is 400 miles from place of employment so it will be a couple days to get vehicle in to dealership to effect repairs. If the government is requiring these systems for safety, then as far as I am concerned they should never fail. Period. Any defect or problem with the system should be immediately corrected by the manufacturer at zero expense to the vehicle owner. I definitely do not feel as safe in the vehicle at the moment, and hope I don't get involved in an accident with this system not working. Just wanted to inform in case others may have experienced this same issue.

I purchased the vehicle in September 2015. About a month after I purchased the vehicle the service air bag warning light came on. The light would generally go off after I turned it off and turned back on. I brought the problem to Honda's attention and they said that it was throwing the code due to low voltage"??" fast forward to 12 months later and the light goes on and off about 10+ times per day. Seems to me that if the airbag system is malfunctioning that there should certainly be a recall.

Check air bag system light came on randomly. Stayed on for majority of time. Dealership ran diagnostics and found code B0001-13 replace cable reel. Notes in repair showed "increased tension in reel" reel was replaced car was returned without working horn or controls on steering wheel working. Latter may be technician fault.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Civic. While driving approximately 35 mph, the driver side air bag light illuminated. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The dealer performed an oil change. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clock spring was incorrectly replaced by the previous owner. The technician replaced the clock spring, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was scheduled for another check up. The contact was not sure whether the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact also noticed some rusting on the sun roof, but did not notify the dealer. The failure mileage was unknown.

My wife and daughter were in an accident 10/24/15. The front of the Honda Civic struck the back of another car. The air bags did not deploy, the seat belt shield them in but no longer function. I took the car into Honda dealership in lake worth, fl, a diagnostic was performed and the computer system was deemed to be not working. The force of the impact was strong enough that the driver and front seat passenger seat belts need to replaced. I purchased the car from this dealership in March 15' after seeing a carfax report saying that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle...updated 11/04/15 updated 1/4/2015

All of these issues have presented themselves while the car was on and in motion. Dear Honda: Recall the airbags asap!! #1 sign of issue @ 45 miles: Passenger airbag light/sensor would blink on-off intermittently (all the time) only while driving. Back driver window works intermittently. #2 @ 15000 miles: Steering wheel controls intermittently worked backwards (volume up would turn down & vice versa.) it wasn't frequently and always eventually started working correctly. #3 @ 40000 miles: Airbag warning light came on stating "check airbags" it goes off every once in a while but is on 90% of the time. (not under warranty, the dealer wants $150 just to look. Having the car less 2yrs. And the airbag having issues since 45 miles and never being in an accident, I feel this should be something I should not have to pay for and can't afford anyway. Huge safety concern. #3 @ 60000 miles: My cruise control does not work. It won't even turn on. #4 @ 64000 miles: The horn does not work most of the time. All these issues and I've only had the car 2.5 yrs. The cruise and volume controls not working is annoying but the horn and airbag is a huge risky issues. I'm not the first to complain. Honda is aware there is issues with the airbags in these models and still has not issued a recall" shame on you Honda! why wait? people are going to die because of the faulty airbags! how many before you make it right?"!!

Was traveling 70 mph on state highway. Was cutoff by large pick-up truck. Swerved off the road hit a metal sign took it down. Continued to drive until I hit a field the speed was too high for me to slam on the breaks. My airbag never deployed causing injury to my back. An airbag not deploying at that high of a speed concerns me. They repaired the car which I am really not comfortable driving.

My wife was drive at about 5mph..on a little street in sacramento... she was making a left turn...when an SUV did see her single and alcam from behind and hit her going about 20mph...they both spin out of control... there were no injuries..but a witness states that they seen multiple accidents in the same intersection.. and that about almost 100% of the time its a roll over...due to the angle orlf the road and speed of the other vehicles...now after the hard impact she spun of control came to a stop and no air bags deployed.. ever...not one single light came on...I'm just concerned because if the car would have rolled over and no air bags would have deployed... then she might have got injured really bad. If this situation is resolved I'm going to replace the Civic for something different.
